Books Abroad is a registered charity, which promotes literacy, education and understanding to provide a means of sustainable escape from the plight of poverty in developing countries. The From its base in Rhynie in Aberdeenshire, the charity collects good quality second hand books donated by schools, colleges, universities and private individuals from across Scotland and some parts of England, and redistributes them to educational establishments worldwide in response to specific requests for support.
