Did you know we were on Shed of the Year?

User

What an absolute rustic treat!!! On arrival Jane made us feel very welcome and relaxed and we were shown all the amenities. It is set on the edge of a working farm with fields and stunning views all around, It gave us a real sense of peace and relaxation. The welcome hamper was full of local produce which was lovely and quickly devoured and the Bottle of bubbles went down a treat in the Love tub!! 👌🏻Our Dogs favourite spot was curled up by the gorgeous wood burning stove. Also have to mention the amazingly comfortable bed up on the mezzanine deck !! 👍😴😴😴 & what a view you wake up to. Thoroughly recommended for a getaway from it all!! We will be back.

What a wonderful place to unwind and relax! We stayed for 3 nights in November and didn't want to leave. The bothy couldn't have been better; it was warm, comfortable and perfectly set up. We especially enjoyed the relaxing process of building a fire to boil the kettle. Jane & James were fantastic hosts and we enjoyed the tour around the farm. We would love to go back. Oh, and the home made strawberry jam was delicious!

User

What a fantastic, rural, get-away! Spent an amazing evening, lazing in the hot tub, drinking wine, gazing at the starry sky, before heading in to the warm, cosy and snug sheep shed, which Jane has clearly spent a lot of thought and time in authentically furnishing. Thoroughly enjoyed cooking a full English breakfast on the wood fired range, before dining al-fresco in the sunshine on the deck. I hope it is not too long before I can enjoy it again!

User

We stayed here for our honeymoon, and were surprised on the second day with some lovely prosecco on the porch. I was initially worried that we'd be huddled under blankets the entire time, but the stoves were easily warm enough with very little messing about needed; we were even able to make stew, scrambled eggs, toast and a fry up. When it was hailing and stormy outside, the bothy was a little haven of comfort. It was convenient for the coast and the distilleries of Speyside, and the combination of the folder of local attractions and the list of good local eateries meant that we had no danger of running out of things to do. We will definitely be finding an excuse to return :-)

We spent a lovely weekend in December at the Barley Bothy - it was ideal for getting away for a big birthday. The space is well thought out; comfortable beds, cozy nooks, a lovely bath with skylight and loads of windows with which to take in the views. The fire was going and the kettle was hot for our arrival. The wee treats on arrival were a lovely greeting and the extra hamper we ordered was filled with local bits and pieces that easily fed us+ and a sticky toffee pudding big enough for a family of 4. We loved the porch and even managed to do a wee 'Barley Bothy Recording Session'. Thank you James and Jane - it'd be a great spot to spend christmas.

User

We spent Halloween weekend watching scary movies by the log fire and star gazing from the cupboard bed - the only trick or treater was the donkey in the nearby field! Jane was absolutely lovely and came to meet us even though we arrived later than planned (in pitch darkness!). Waiting for us when we arrived was a kettle of water on top of the wood burner, a fresh baked loaf, homemade fudge and a pot of jam - it was a treat. Comfiest beds, beautiful views and all in all a place I desperately didn't want to leave. Autumn colours were stunning as well - highly recommend a visit at this time of year!

User

We have just returned from two nights at the Sheep Shed. It was the perfect break. The Sheep Shed is wonderful. Cosy, comfortable and most importantly relaxing.

There is something very magical about the Shed especially in the dark evenings. We would recommend leaving the lights and taking advantage of the candles and lanterns that are left.

The icing on the cake has to be the Hot Tub it's a perfect way to spend an evening under the stars.

Thank you so much to Jane and we hope to return soon.

User

We have just returned from a wonderful weekend stay at the Sheep Shed. A unique experience that was so much fun. Jane was a great host and had everything in place for us to just arrive enjoy our weekend. The local produce she arranged for our arrival was all lovely with the AMAZING Banoffee pie a definite favourite!

Bring your candles, kick back and relax in beautiful countryside!!

User

We have just had the most amazing accommodation experience at the Barley Bothy. It totally outstripped our expectations.

It's the best way "to get away from it all" such an idilic location..... best of all were the extremely comfy beds .... better than mine at home x

Would highly recommend, such great memories x x Fiona Firth

We had two night in the Sheep Shed. It's a perfect way to slow down, appreciate life, relax, count sheep. Loved having the wood burning range cooker and hot tub. Both were used everyday. Our dog loved sitting on a blanket by the door watching the farm animals when he wasn't sleeping in front of the stove. Lots of good walks in the surrounding area. If you have a dog that likes the sea, try Sunnyside beach.

User

We had the best time ever here! Such an amazing little place that is so homely. We will be highly recommending this place to all our friends!

User

We had a wonderful stay at the Sheep Shed. Jane was lovely and very helpful- we arrived to the stove lit and the kettle on, with freshly baked bread and homemade jam, and she had kindly stocked us up with local produce (eggs, butter, milk, and delicious steaks!). Just what we needed to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle. The shed has been beautifully designed and everything in it is so cute- comfy bed and sofa, wood burning stove thats easy to cook on and makes everything so cosy. And the hot tub was fab to sit and star gaze with a glass of wine. We turned our phones off and left watches in the car, waking up to the sunrise through the huge windows, taking a stroll up through the fields to a beautiful view, reading and napping! Couldn't recommend it highly enough. Thank you! x

User

Not long home from an exquisite few days in the Sheep Shed. Jane was so welcoming, had the stove and hot tub all fired up for our slightly late arrival. And our first night there put a cap on the perfect day, stargazing in the hot-tub, beverages on hand and then to top it off, the glorious aurora put in an appearance! Just magical.

The bothy was perfectly formed and so cozy for a day of reading and a short walk, close enough to Speyside for some days out to distilleries and the perfect haven to retreat to. We'll be back for certain. I can't recommend it enough!

User

My wife & I had two amazing nights at the sheep shed! It was a gift from our friends for our honey moon & could not be happier! Jane (the owner) was so helpful & welcoming. All the amenities work perfectly (although we ran the solar power down by running the fridge too long!) such an idillic place for a romantic break ... 5 stars is not enough!

User

My partner and I have just returned home after a blissful two night stay in the sheep shed ! I am blown away by the peaceful vibe and striking beauty of this location. Set amongst the rolling farm lands, the boutique bothies are nothing short of a touch of Scottish heaven. Jane made us extremely welcome and had already set the fire and popped the kettle on for us. We spent our time reading, listening to music, cooking on the Aga and just talking. Something about this place just forces you to slow down and really enjoy every moment. The property is so well appointed with everything you could need. The little touches are so special. Homemade bread and jam , gorgeous fudge and press coffee. These luxuries set it apart from other places we have stayed.

I cannot express the joy of walking up to the wild country side view all around you , beaming through the large window. Our hearts feel so lifted and rejuvenated. Thank you for this wonderful experience.

The hot tub is a real adventure and simply breathtaking to enjoy under the starry sky with a glass of fizz.

We have been well and truly pampered.

Five star recommendation from us !

Just waiting at Inverness airport to head back down to Somerset and reminiscing on what a fabulous four days we have had, Jane and James where fantastic hosts and made us feel right at home, we didn't venture to far away from the sheep shed as we couldn't get enough of the views and relaxing atmosphere.

The love tub sets this place apart from others and completes what's already a perfect experience. The hamper was a real treat and the produce it contained was high quality and all locally sourced. All in all a very romantic and relaxing break to which we will definitely be returning.

Just returned from a weekend get-away in the Sheep Shed. Simply cannot recommend it highly enough (I have been raving about it to anyone and everyone I meet!). The location is stunning and so much thought has been put into making the shed just perfect for a cosy, peaceful and relaxing retreat. Getting to sit in the hot tub with a glass of prosecco and gaze out across the beautiful Aberdeenshire countryside was a highlight. First stay at The Sheep Shed after a few visits to Barley Bothy. Another cute & quirky place with lots of fun features to discover :) Perfect for 2 people it's a really cosy & intimate space, made extra romantic with candlelit evenings inside & moonlit trips out to the 'luv' tub :) Always a pleasure to come here, Jane is a fab host & you really feel like you are a million miles away from it all.
