Brackley Rugby Club Description

Brackley RUFC is a classless, family orientated club formed in 1976 to address the growing need for Rugby Union Football in the town.

We currently field 2 senior sides playing respectively in the Midlands East Division 3 and the Wells Bombardier Merit Table. There is also a Veteran’s Team (The Broken Brigade) who still maintain a passion for rugby away from the intensity of 1st XV action. We also play host to a thriving Youth Section (minis /midis /juniors) with more than 100 names registered and many local parents in support.

Our non-playing social members are in excess of 200 and they provide a good deal of backing to the club. Our roots within the community are growing and we wish to develop strong relationships with key local businesses to take this club forward.

Brackley RUFC Statement - Coronavirus 16/3/2020
Based on advice from the RFU regarding Coronavirus. All rugby matches and training for both the Adult and Youth sections of Brackley Rugby Club will be cancelled until at least 14th April when the situation will be reviewed.
As per the announcement from the RFU we hope that all club members will be able to work on their own fitness during this time and are ready to go when we can come back together to play some more rugby.
... The club will use the time to work on the pitches and club house. The pitches in particular will benefit with time to repair after a very wet winter.
The rugby club will also be closed for all social events until 14th of April. Anyone who has booked the club will be contacted directly.
We hope that our players, past players, members, volunteers, supporters and staff can support us in this difficult but necessary decision.

GAME DAY!!!
Let’s get up and support please. Simple rules for today:
1. No hand shake policy. A “hi” and a wave is all that is needed. If you feel the need to touch then a fist pump is the max allowed.
... 2. Please wash your hands before coming into the main club area. There is plenty of soap in the bathrooms.
3. Do not come to the club if you have flu like symptoms, new continuous cough or high temp.
4. Players - I have put all water bottles through the dishwasher. Ensure you spray water into mouth and not touch with your mouth.
5. Do not share food or drink: crisps, peanuts etc so to minimise cross contamination.
6. Please follow the catch it, bin it and kill it rule. We do understand coming from outside to inside will cause your nose to run. We will not judge you if you have to blow your nose in the club house. However still catch it, bin it and kill it.
The most important thing is to ENJOY the day and let’s get a big W!!!

Club Statement on Corona Virus as of 13/03/2020
Brackley RUFC Management Committee are closely monitoring the advice regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus) from UK Government, NHS and Public Health England.
Our primary concern is the health and wellbeing of all our senior and junior players, past players, volunteers, supporters and staff.
... Based on the current advice we will NOT be cancelling fixtures and training, we will keep monitoring this and update accordingly.
We do expect all involved with Brackley RUFC to follow the government advice and self isolate if they feel unwell with cold and flu like symptoms, therefore not attending the club. If anyone has knowingly been in contact with someone who is thought to have coronavirus we would ask them to stay away from the club for the time being.
Rugby is a contact sport, so players not doing handshakes when they have just played rugby would seem a little ironic. However in the bar and off the field we will adopt the elbow bump type greeting.
As soon as possible we will be providing hand sanitisation stations and increasing the amount of hand wash available in the toilets. We advise all members attending the club to follow good hand hygiene techniques.
