Our Amateurs kept up our strong finish to the season going with a crucial 5 3 victory away to Campsie. With a number of forced changes in our line up you would have thought it would have taken us a while to get up to speed but it was the opposite. We came out the traps flying & were 3 0 up after 18 mins with goals from Justin, Jay & Sean. Dixie was also very close on a couple of occasions with one great effort hitting the post. We looked to be cruising before 2 goals right o...n half-time let Campsie back in the game. Dean managed to put us 4 2 up with a nice strike from outside the box but we then switched of & lost another. We had a nervy spell before Dean put the game to bed with a nice headed goal after being set up with Jay. Well done to all the lads with a few nursing some niggles. Also well done to Kevin for stepping in & puting in another solid performance in goals. Teamwork makes the Dreamwork. Bring it on Braehead.

A very hard fought game for our Amatuers finished 2 each with Syngenta. We cancelled each other out in the first half with very few chances for any team. It was Syngenta who opened the scoring after we never fully cleared our lines & a well hit shot from 25 yards sneaked in just inside the post. The introduction of Jay seemed to give us more purpose & we started to create a few chances. It was player coach Sean who scored from fully 30 yards when his shot deceived the keeper ...to loop over his head. We were now on top & Jay was fouled inside the penalty box by the keeper & up stepped Sean from the spot to put us 2 1 up. Then after a great ball by Aaron set up Jay who smashed the ball of the crossbar & Alex was unlucky with the rebound. Syngenta then put us under some pressure & again we failed to clear our lines & the Syngenta player manged to fire the ball through a ruck of players high into the roof of the net with only 5 mins to go. With the clock ticking down we flung Every thing into trying to get the winner & Sean managed to play Dixie in with just the keeper to beat in the last minute but frustratingly his well hit shot scraped the outside of the post with the keeper stranded. Heartbreak for Our guys. Another strong performance though as we look to finish the season well. We play Campsie away in the league on Saturday where we will be looking for the 3 points. Teamwork makes the Dreamwork. Bring it on Braehead.

We at Braehead Football Club are proud members of the FVFDA & we are excited about plans to expand our League & take it to another level. Well done to the committee for lowering fees & trying to be more flexible with all teams going forward. Hopefully this will make all our leagues more competitive in the future.

Well done to our Amateurs today who made it a successful day all round for our teams with a very convincing 5 2 victory against Drumpellier where the score flattered our opponents again. After losing a sloppy opener we went on to dominate game playing good passing football & created loads of opportunities. It's great to have Robert Reid back playing & he scored his Hattrick & was unfortunate not to have more. Bobby Smith & an own goal were our other scorers. We remain in contention to challenge for top spot in group. Well done to all our lads today. It's great to see coaches from our younger sections playing for Our Amateurs & the youngsters from all our teams coming along to support & cheer along their coaches. Teamwork makes the Dreamwork. Bring it on Braehead.
