12 noon: Tasting begins... Taste a selection of Gin, served in four different styles to complement their exciting and different flavours. Through-out the relaxed Gin masterclass, you will learn the background and distillation methods of the Gins. Feel free to ask any questions to our expert. Smell and taste each Gin individually, as well as their perfect serve and discover the individual botanicals that make every Gin unique.

We are delighted to be welcoming back host Jamie Williamson to show case a brand new selection of Gin's for our Gin Experience & Lunch Event from The Old Curiosity Distillery.
Hamish Martin thought he'd turned his back on the drinks' business when he swapped the wine trade for growing herbs on a derelict site outside Edinburgh that went on to become The Secret Herb Garden. Here, over 600 herbs are grown for multiple purposes with some of Edinburgh's finest restaurants sourcing herbs from Hamish. In 2016, Steve Ross joined the business, initially as a volunteer, to learn more about herbs. Being a mixologist and bar owner, it was fairly inevitable that their thoughts would turn to gin and The Old Curiosity Distillery was founded in 2017.

Brian and the team at Le Chardon d’Or are honoured to announce on Wednesday 22nd of May we welcome host Louise Höpler of the Austrian, family owned, winery Höpler, to showcase a selection of wine from their multi-award-winning portfolio. Höpler wines have a clear signature. They tend to be delicate, elegant and high in minerality. They are excellent to drink on their own but versatile when it comes to food and wine pairing.
50 hectares of vineyards are located south-east of V...ienna in Burgenland and lie in the Leithaberg Hills on the shores of Lake Neusiedl. Lake Neusiedl provides warmth and moisture to their vineyards and the north, the Leitha range of mountains, act as a weather divide. The climate features cold winters with little snow. Two thousand hours of sunshine, high humidity and an average of 500ml of rain per year provide climatically perfect conditions for the production of premium wines. This unique location enables a wide variety of wines to be produced; 55% white wine, 40% red and 5% dessert wine.
Höpler’s commitment to the production of phenomenal wines is proven in the winery’s extensive and ongoing accolades. Further to this, their wines feature in some of the most prestigious dining venues worldwide. Went to the cocktail tasting and lunch event with friends on Saturday. It was really informative and good fun. The man who conducted the tasting was such fun and created a really good atmosphere with all the groups of strangers ending up mixing. Food was to die for, especially the fish. This was our second time and would do again . Thank you x

Went for the gin experience and value for money was fantastic, staff and service outstanding x food was incredible the work that went into both courses was so impressive. I cannot rate it high enough and wish there was 6 star ⭐️ option. Have been a few times for just meals and have never being disappointed. If you are looking for fine dining food please do not go anywhere else.

Went along with a group of girlfriends to the gin lunch on Saturday & had simply the best time.



The gin tasting itself was fun, informative and excellent value. The cocktails that accompanied each taster were all a little out of the ordinary and came as a welcome distraction from the traditional.



The lunch that followed was delicious, with each morsel more perfect than the last.



The friendly, attentive staff & luxury surroundings really topped the afternoon off. Can't recommend highly enough and look forward to booking again very soon.

Visited today having won lunch and cocktails on the FB Competition. We were treated like VIP’s from the moment we arrived but, from what I could see, that’s the standard welcome. All staff we met were friendly and knowledgeable, service was impeccable and the food just amazing. The restaurant is decorated in a modern Scottish style and is truly lovely. My hard to please husband is already talking about a return visit!

Utterly fabulous, beautifully presented, delicious, gorgeous room and superb service, 5 star all round, rounded off with a taster of violet gin in three: on its own; with grapefruit and with tonic, absolutely wonderful. We are four very happy people.

This is my favourite place in Glasgow to celebrate special occasions or just a treat, which we all deserve now and again. Enjoy all who visit, you will never be disappointed

It is not the cheepest or the most expensive but the quality is second to none.

Another fabulous lunch today at Le Chardon d'Or Restaurant. When your sisters come to visit from Canada and London theres only one place to go where you know everything will be as special as they are. Amazing food and great service.

Staff are pleasant but not well trained for environment. Starters nice, mains disappointing. No depth of flavour. Overall taste, pretty average. Last couple of times visited we've had similar experiences but decided to give another chance as this was where we had our first date. Unfortunately, it wasn't much better so don't think we would book again.

Had dinner here on Saturday evening! We were both pretty dissapointed to be honest! Had scallop and spicy crab starters which were ok but not worth the price. The lamb I had was tastey but again lamb, potato n veg, nothing special and at almost 30 pound, same for my husbands steak! Red wine was delicious and service was great. We've eaten here a few times but not sure I'd return after this! Pity! Looked at the Rioja event advertised in Reatsurant but after Saturday would be fearful it would be great wine with average food!
