Briarbank Guest House

The place is charming! Chris was an amazing host, really nice and welcoming. We only stayed one night but it felt like being home. The room was small but cosy, and everything was really clean. If your visiting Oban check if they have a room, totally worth it!

Great stay. Host was friendly and a great cook. Read about the stair climb before we got there, so we packed an overnight bag. If you plan to stay more than one night it would be worth it to bring your suitcase.

We got there late and left early. A bit of a climb with the suitcases from the car, but they offered to help carry. They were nice enough to leave us a breakfast in our room so we could catch the early morning ferry.

The Briarbank Guest House was a great place to stay in Oban with only a 5 minute walk to town center. The owner was extremely nice and friendly and the rooms were spacious, clean, and well kept and the off-street parking was really nice as well. The room themes were a nice touch and well done. You make your breakfast order the night before and specify the time you'd like to eat and they cook it for you at that time which was also really handy. The only downside is the steep hill and rugged stairs to get to the B&B. Overall, the Briarbank Guest House is highly recommended.

I would highly recommend this B&B. Very welcoming, laid back atmosphere. Fabulous breakfast. Excellent host.

Friendly new owners - as of May 2016. A steep hike up from the road if you're lugging your bags - you may want to get help with this! Not a long walk from the waterfront - maybe 15 minutes tops. Quaint ultra-Scottish room decor.
