As the General Assembly of our Church of Scotland begins, and the Rev Colin Sinclair is about to be sworn in as the new Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland we should pray for them all.

Our friends and neighbours at St. Saviour’s Episcopal Church are about to get a new roof!
This has been a long time in the planning as we are delighted it is now happening. Part of our joy is that whilst the work is carried out St Saviour's will be coming over the road and using our building.
From the 9th June 2019, and for the duration of the works, St Saviour's will be holding their Holy Eucharist (sung) and Young Church in our Church from 9.15 to 10.30.
... All other services and their post-service teas and coffee will be back over the road in their own hall.
It is great as a Church of Scotland to welcome our friends from the Diocese of St. Andrews, Dunkeld and Dunblane of the Scottish Episcopal Church to share our building during their building work.

It is with sadness that we hear the news of the death of Jean Vanier. A man who lived out God's love in the world buy radically and lovingly answering the question "will you be my friend?"
The work of L'Arche UK, L'Arche Edinburgh and all the various communities around the world are an amazing and ongoing testimony to God's loved in action in the world.
Thank you, Jean.
Rachel Held Evans, the writer, theologian and follower of Jesus, died this week. She was a voice for many and a guide through the difficult waters of a true, doubting and honest faith. The faith she articulated valued a relationship with God and a response to God, rather than being a set of rules to be followed.
In this piece, she is said, "Holiness, to me, means committing every area of my life." and this, with most of her work, is well worth remembering.
Tomorrow, Sunday 5th May, we continue to look at why #Lovewins
We will take the words of Jesus seriously when he explains to his disciples to Love who he loves.
We will think about who is welcome in our house.
... We will hear of the life of Annie Croall, a Stirlingshire lady who changed the lives of hundreds of children for over a hundred years.
We will also look briefly at how we can be encouraged ourselves, and how we can encourage others to #TryPraying
