What can I say "Beautiful , beautiful , effortless, elegant, cool and more…" Arrived at the salon ( Parisian inspired with a touch of Skandi cool) with a brief - Please..please please..pretty please deliver me a truly bespoke, skilled and crafted style that I can manage!..I'm a busy person with a full time career and two young children with little time (15 mins max on a good day) to spare in the morning- so no flat irons or fussy blow dry's for me. To add to this I have incredibly dry, curly hair..which can have have most stylists running for the hills!

I saw Bruce himself who immediately put me at my ease and delivered an absolutely beautiful ,

flawless haircut..which is a joy to dry in my very busy mornings and with minimal effort my hair looks great! Thank you Bruce. Highly recommended for girls with a curly texture.

What a treat, the new salon is a little oasis of calm, beautifully understated and without the banging music I'd associate with most Edinburgh hairdressers.

I already knew I'd get great results from Paula, she's cut my hair for years and knows exactly what it will and won't do and of course I wasn't disappointed. I left feeling relaxed, chilled and a whole lot less stressed than I'd been when I arrived. Fantastic experience!

This is the first hair salon where I’ve come out absolutely loving my hair. I’m now a regular and love it every time. Not only that, I have picked up so many tips about how to properly dry my hair that for the first time since GHDs were a staple item, I’ve not immediately starting straightening my hair after I’ve blow dried it as I now know how to do it. (My hair is quite curly naturally!)

The salon is beautiful, great location and lovely relaxed vibe. Some great salons can feel quite pretentious and stuffy but not this one. My first visit here, what a wonderful excperience from start to finish. The salon had such a lovely feel to it and a very chilled vibe. I was greeted with a smile and a coffee before the amazing Paula Wardrop talked me through the products for the condition of my hair. I can honestly say my hair has never felt and looked so healthy, fantastic products. Paula has been cutting my hair for over 20 years and always does awesome styling! Just fantastic!! Thank you!

Lyndsey took the time to fully assess my hair, skin colour and problems with regrowth, and I am thrilled to come with hair that looks healthy and vibrant. Also helped by a great cut from Nicola. This salon is a great asset for Edinburgh - thank-you !

Fantastic salon! I spent 4 hours being thoroughly pampered today - firstly by Lynsey getting my colour just perfect then Bruce's magic touch giving my tired haircut an overhaul. Both Lynsey and Bruce seemed to know exactly what would suit me and I walked out with exactly the hair I dreamed of! I've never previously given a hair dresser free reign over my hair but I 100% trusted that Bruce was an industry expert and would get it just right. I certainly wasn't disappointed. The salon is like a relaxing sanctuary - right in the heart of the city centre - but with a cool, chic, and very relaxing vibe! As others have mentioned the coffee and treats are fab, and you leave feeling fabulous!



Bruce Masefield really is the next big thing to come to Edinburgh and I can't wait to go back!

Lynsey was so helpful in putting a colour plan into place for the run up to my wedding and Paula was absolutely amazing at my cut! I've never had someone spend so much time on cutting my hair so carefully and the result was perfection. The level of customer care within this salon is second to none. Very much looking forward to on going visits here.

Bruce has been cutting my hair since July 2017. It's the best it's ever looked. To top that he's such a lovely person and the time passes with great conversations.

Also, his wife Lynsey has been colouring my hair since August 2017. She is brilliant at choosing the right colours for my highlights. We have great chats too and such a lovely person.

Bruce understood what I needed and what suits my face, my hair type, my lifestyle and my overall shape. I don't say this lightly - I think it might be the best haircut I've had in years. Bruce Masefield Hair is a fantastic new addition to Edinburgh’s West End. My experience this morning having a cut and colour was excellent. Not only is the salon chic, fresh and beautiful but the friendly and professional service made for a really lovely experience.



You are met with coffee, lemon water and a little pick-me-up dish of treats- perfect to enjoy during your appointment. Salon owners Lynsey and Bruce were so welcoming and affable and really offered a tailored service specific to my needs. They advised on the best style, colour and care for my hair, paying particular attention to how I manage my hair in everyday life. Their aim is for my hair to look and feel its best at all times and not just on the days I have a professional blow-dry!



I left the salon feeling wonderful! I am so pleased with the cut and styling but moreso that the colour is glossy, multidimensional and looks really natural. I cannot recommend the services highly enough and shall certainly be back.

Salon owners Lynsey and Bruce were so welcoming and affable and really offered a tailored service specific to my needs. They advised on the best style, colour and care for my hair, paying particular attention to how I manage my hair in everyday life. Their aim is for my hair to look and feel its best at all times and not just on the days I have a professional blow-dry!



I left the salon feeling wonderful! I am so pleased with the cut and styling but moreso that the colour is glossy, multidimensional and looks really natural. I cannot recommend the services highly enough and shall certainly be back.

As a super-fussy hair & beauty blogger it's not often that I come away from the hairdressers loving my hair (in fact, has it ever happened before?!) but yesterday, I did. A subtle cut by Bruce but with the attention to detail that made all the difference. Oh and my 7 month old son loved watching too! Looking forward to returning for my colour soon...
