Bruichladdich Distillery Description
We are Progressive Hebridean Distillers. Our aim is to create the most thought provoking whisky possible. We believe in terroir and in a wholly natural product, un-chill filtered and colouring free, hand crafted and bottled at our distillery in Islay.

The Blackening! Strapped to the front of the trailer with his bride to be, frozen and covered in a putrid slurry, our head warehouseman Sean still manages a smile! Good luck Sean and Debbie!
ItŌĆÖs gin oŌĆÖclock at the Islay Show! #bethebotanist
The Laddie Shop will be closed tomorrow in support of the 172nd Islay, Jura and Colonsay Agricultural Show.
Marvellous moos, sensational sheep, extraordinary equines and a pop-up Botanist tent - what could go wrong?
The tallship Thalassa is currently moored outside the distillery. The quote on the boats website seems equally applicable to a visit to the Laddie Shop... "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didnŌĆÖt do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." (Mark Twain)
A huge well done to those who took part in one of IslayŌĆÖs great sporting events yesterday - the infamous "Ride of the Falling Rain". The informal bike ride starts and finishes at the minimarket in Bruichladdich with the small matter of a 100 miles in between. This year the cycle was in memory of our dear friend Carl Reavey. Carls brother Ben, son Sam and friend John cycling in his place.
On Thursday 28th June our entire distillery workforce will be putting back into the community by helping 4 local causes,
The Islay Community Garden The Islay Community Forest The Bruichladdich Hall... The Port Charlotte Primary School
The distillery will be CLOSED on this day but open as normal on the 29th when weŌĆÖll be feeling all good about ourselves...
Thank you for your understanding

Bottoms up! We are in the midst of our maintenance period at Bruichladdich. Stillman Graham has spent the last few days cleaning and painting in the lower tun room. We think our wooden washbacks are looking good as new - well done Mr Hayes.

All the way from Alaska! Matt Iverson of Crush Bistro & Bottle Shops is preparing a delicious cinnamon gimlet for our Laddie crew. CRUSH Wine Bistro & Cellar Matt and his partner Katherine are cycling the Scottish west coast and weŌĆÖre delighted they had enough energy to mix a few cocktails!
Todays Botanist Tour in full swing! The Harvey family are enjoying it so much theyŌĆÖve taken over AshleyŌĆÖs Bar!

Thanks to James Hine for this photo of his Bruichladdich fuelled triathlon training in Northern Alberta! Good luck boys!
We first visited bruichladdich in 2003 shortly after it had reopened. We maintained an ongoing relationship with them since as I bought a cask back then. Yesterday we had the enormous excitement of collecting our single cask bottling - which tastes very very nice, by the way. Everyone we have dealt with has been amazing, and when at the distillery everyone who passes you says hello. An amazing, friendly place. Thank you so much to Jenna and Joanne. Genuinely sad to see this chapter of our bruichladdich story end.
This is hands down our favorite distillery. I was so excited to find the Botanist in my local grocery store recently, I great reminder of our trip here several years ago!
The best. Of the whisky heavily peated.

The Whiskey is very smooth and the Gin is Great, the whole brand is forward thinking and a bit more fashionable than others, the shop is well worth a visit. 5 stars for all the staff I meet.
Sorry to have missed Mary (twice) this week. Wanted to share our baby news. We will be back!!
Really nice tour, very good guide! Professional and generous, tasted different kinds and you could buy some sorts that you only find there.
One of the best tours you can do. Very original and keeps to tradition. One of the few that shows you everything and let's you take pictures to remember it by. The whisky is great, the culture is great, the story is great, and you will enjoy it.
I had no previous experience with the brand and I've toured over 50 distilleries and this was by far in the top 2.
Nice little tour, super enthusiastic staff - Louise is an absolute delight!!! It may be a whisky tour but try the gin!
I've ¤ÉØ here for four times now and it happens new things every time. Going next year too and we will see what the great staff will show us then. Don't forget to eat at the restaurant in Port Charlotte hotel. Cheeeeers
I was in Islay during the week with a group of guests on a charter boat & we chose a last minute stop at Bruichladdich Distillery in Loch Indaal.
I called the distillery & was told unfortunately they had no tour apace available on the particular day, but our guests would be welcome to come in for a complimentary tasting.
They were not disappointed. Ashleigh talked us through the products & provide various samples of the distillery's products for all 11 of us. She was a great ambassador for the distillery & I wouldn't hesitate to visit again.
I visited Bruichladdich Distillery with my girlfriend and I left there with my fianc├®e. It really is a magical place :)
I really like to thank all the people at Bruichladdich for making this a truly special day.
Great informative tour, very friendly guide! The store is also great, lots of whiskey, varying sizes of the Botanist gin and other great gifts! Will likely need to park along the road as itŌĆÖs so busy. Recommend booking ahead for your tours! We did the basic one but you get lots of tasting and ┬Ż5 off 500 or 700ml bottles.
Great Tour. Fraser was very knowledgeable and great to listen to. Even made some purchases
Fantastic warehouse experience. Fraser is knowledgeable and engaging, and was proud of what the Bruichladdich team produces, as he should be! Stunning whisky, beautiful distillery, top-notch staff.
Fantastic visit, thanks to Sarah for arranging a meeting with Chrissie. Also your talk through the malts was entering and informative ’┐Į
Dear Bruichladdich-Team! WeŌĆśve been here for the eleventh time this year and it feels like home again! Thank you all for the great time we had. Special thanks to Mary for taking care of us and Adam for his time and expertise. See you all again soon. Axel, Thomas, Sigurd & Hans (aka the Port Ellen Boys)
Dad and I did the warehouse tasting last October. It is by far and away the best tasting I have ever experienced! The drams were just not of this Earth! Stunning stuff! I also bottled a Bruichaddich (Laddie Crew Valinch 29 - Roddy MacEachern) and will open that one on a special occasion. I will be back one day!
Amazing distillery great staff. Were there last Sept and the young lad who gave tour/talk it was his 21st birthday but he gave an interesting tour not the usual tourist spiel.
Gin is very good nearly to die for, good and friendly staff, I'm sorry no tour because of a maintance after heavy rain and wheather
