We couldn’t decide which iconic Wes Anderson film to show … so we decided to show 2!
First "The Darjeeling Limited” an emotional comedy about three brothers re-forging family bonds.The eldest, hopes to reconnect with his two younger siblings by taking them on a train trip across the vibrant and sensual landscape of India. A beautiful film with an amazing soundtrack.
Followed by The Wes Anderson movie that people think of when they think of Wes Anderson movies, “The Royal Tenenbaums”, a story about failure that’s told by someone who’s afraid of his own ambition (or, more precisely, afraid of his unwillingness to tame it). It’s a film where the characters are cobbled together from affects, but all manage to feel human.

The sun is out and the Brunswick St Live Stage will be open at 12.30 today, first up is the PUNKIT team at 1pm, then we have the amazing Red Pine Timber Company. We'll have a short break in the afternoon before we resume for Martha Reeves and The Vandellas! Fully stocked Heverlee bars and a dedicated food area at the best stage at this years festival!!

ELECTRO 80’s pay tribute to this era, with a lovingly recreated live show that is certain to transport everyone back to the dawn of New Wave and beyond....

What a brilliant start to the Merchant City Festival at Brunswick Street Live yesterday!! Today at 12.30pm we have the arrival at our stage of this years Carnival Parade with Samba Caramba, Hattrick, BEAT THAT and the Samba Ya Bamba Youth Band. There's more live music during the day from The Magic Lantern Show, Umbongo Nambarrie, Surround, The Debt Collectors and to finish our musical programme this evening we have the amazing Lou Hickey And The Love Bites followed by a performance from Dynaglides with their authentic 50's and 60's rock n roll show. Here at Brunswick Street Live we are delighted to announce that Glasgow's Merchant City Festival is the second stop on Le Fritter - Heverlee's very own bar & friterie tour.
We are super excited to be working with the team who brought you last years Heverlee At Tontine Lane & they will be serving perfect pints, gourmet frites as well as a few more surprises across the 9 days!
Entertainment wise, we kick start the Festival on Saturday at midday with a jam packed programme of ...music of all eras & genres to make you dance all day & night headlined by Glasgow's very own Trongate Rum Riots!
On Sunday, the Rio inspired Carnival procession starts at George Square at midday and takes place with a vibrant & spectacular procession of samba dancers, energetic music & steel drum bands! As the anticipation builds through the streets of Glasgow, we end at Brunswick Street for a fun filled concert as the Samba schools battle it out to see who is the best of the best 2016 ... Not to be missed!
Make sure you swing by to eat, drink & dance.
