Great service from booking to checking out. Friendly and helpful staff. Room was cosy and comfy. Food was good. The gin list was amazing! Loved the craic in the pop up bar ( cash only folks so leave the plastic behind). A great weekend all round

There was a wedding on when we dropped in for a drink and the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed. A bit of a wait with one lady serving everybody. Good choice of wines and two real ales on tap. Manu looked good but would have worried about how long the wait was. Nice decor.

We had a lunch in the bar. Very smart decor with log burner going. Good menu choice. I had a bacon and cheese burger with fries which was genuinely the nicest burger I’ve had for years, can’t praise enough! My wife is vegetarian and there’s lots of choice. She had a battered haloumi wrap which was good. Service was pretty quick and staff friendly. Would like to go back and sample from their extensive gin menu.

As already mentioned in detailed review, the hotel outside of the room we had (Room 20), was very good to excellent. The room at £130 a night let the overall experience down. It was a little shabby and the bathroom needs a new bath I would suggest.

Really enjoyed our experience at this hotel.
Service from reception and throughout was exceptional.
Wifi certainly in our room was strong and reliable.
We had fine evening meal and the breakfast next day was something else- try the haddock in the cheese sauce , freshly cooked too.
No downsides at all to report.
Just a good ,safe ,warm haven .
We shall return

Lovely place.
However when they host parties I think it would be a good idea to use plastic cups.
I seen 4 or 5 glasses smashed on the dance floor.
Someone came out I admit to clean up as best they could.

However any tiny bit of glass could go up a girls foot of she takes her heels off.

Plastic cups would stop this problem.

Staff need training, poor offering from them on our experience on offers avail for evening meal. Room very small with little to no outlook and took an age for hot water to run. Access to room along a very squeaky passageway. Felt it was very over priced for what was on offer.

Went for a lunch with my family. Food was excellent and prices were reasonable. Only thing was that when I phoned to book they didn't mention needing to specify whether you wanted to sit in the restaurant or bar. Would have preferred the restaurant if given the option but the whole place is very nice

A real hotel, non of your corporate plastic, with a great restaurant.
Friendly, helpful staff always on hand.
Good area for walking but also easy access to the surrounding tourist attractions.
