Caerlaverock Castle Corner Camp Site

We only stayed one night so my friends little one had the experience of camping. , but I really wish we had stayed longer. She loved it. I will most certainly be going back soon. Owner was really nice and made us welcome.
I read one review about pitch being to far from car, REALLY??? If a six year old girl can carry a load of tents to pitch, but not reviewer, then perhaps camping is not for them. As owner said it is 30 metres or so.
I gave this a 5 star rating, but it deserves so much more. It is exactly what i was looking for.

The site itself is really well placed, close to the castle and the wetlands as well, with a lovely walk to get to either. It is a lovely quiet site, with no light pollution, and very pleasant. The facilities are good, but small if all the campers are there with tents as well (although that wasn't the case when we were there).

The owners are very friendly, have good advice on things to see and do, and willing to chat and help if you need them.

The site itself is beautifully placed for Dumfries and the Solway estuary.

You will have to book this site as there are only 5 camper spaces.

Nice campsite but a bit far to carry camping equipment from a car. Very good washroom facilities. Good value for a low price
