So last week we celebrated getting into the top 500, today we are sitting at #413
this mornings batch of scones, Half the fruit ones are already gone!
Hooray...........we made top 500 (466 to be precise) in Edinburgh on trip advisor, not bad when your up against 1865 others, a big thank you to all our reviewers. CMx

Well this was Victoria sponge number three in a week, all gone I'm afraid, you have to be quick to beat my regulars to it. #likecoldcake — at CAFE Marmalade.
What a super Café, well, I'd say more like a Bistro as Café doesn't seem enough.
Hubby and I were visiting from Aberdeen last week, we had breakfast on both days at this gem of a place. Staff are amazeballs, our chef extraordinaire (the owner) was so lovely, even let us come in 15 mins early which was so nice of him due to the inclement weather looming.
First day, hubby had full Scottish brekkie and I had scrambled eggs on toast - sublime, huge portions and just superb.
Second day, we had bacon rolls, hubby had two but I could barely finish the one I had, massive yet again.
Had we left some room, we'd have loved to try out the beautiful bakes made on site, as they look delicious.
HIGHLY recommend Café Marmalade, we would definetly visit again if we were in the area.

Under New Management.Much better. Good coffee and a nice selection of sandwiches, salads and homemade shortbreads.
Such a nice atmosphere with relaxing music in the background. Very friendly staff who chat away to you. Food is fantastic also. ����

Stayed in Leith lady weekend with my friends and we had breakfast there everyday. Staff are very friendly and food is fantastic and affordable. Would definitely recommend to eat there if you in the area. Top Nosh!

Oh my! The orange millionaires shortbread was divine! Tasty without being too orangey. Lovely staff, friendly and the owner on hand to chat too... looking forward to pistachio millionaires later. Great wee place and great prices... I'd even to check they'd charged me for everything as it was so reasonable. Be back soon!
My partner and I popped in here yesterday (1st visit) and we were thrilled with it . He had the sweet chilli wrap and I had the blt sandwich ,too much for me so we went half n half .Have to say both were delightful . Then the strawberry millionaire shortcake was devine and not too sweet ,while he had the banana and walnut loaf washed down with an Americano and a Latte for myself which both came either medium or strong so no complaints on the coffees either .
The owner was a lovely ,friendly man and the surroundings and music made this a very enjoyable stopping point .We will definately be back and look forward to the opening of the outside area at the back for a bit of al fresco dining . :)
Lovely homemade food with friendly welcoming staff offering great service :)

Had our breakfast here this morning which was absolutely lively. Really nice sausage and bacon. Choice of coffee strengths and lovely lattes too. The owner was extremely friendly.

Myself and my 9 year old had a lovely lunch here yesterday. I had baked potato with cheese which I normally find lacks cheese, but this was a cheese lovers dream. My son for once couldn't finish his plate. Lovely staff and even free caramel shortbread on leaving. Will be back soon
Lovely little cafe, relaxed and friendly staff, generous portions for good prices. Great service, as I got a phone call, which went on longer than expected, part way through my scrambled eggs and salmon, the staff came and offered to warm it up for me. Recommend a visit.
Lovely friendly little cafe we discovered in Leith. Good selection of snacks and coffees. Will be back.
I popped in as a passer by, and was pleasantly surprised. I am pretty fussy about my coffee but it was really tasty and strong... And stayed hot till I finished it!
I had a scone which was fresh and still a little warm inside. Apparently a new recipe, according to the friendly chef. Can't say if it was better than previous recipe but I can say it was moist and satisfying without being too heavy and I especially like the raisins being a little chewy.

A wee gem of a plane to sit outside in he sun. Just a quick coffee and croissant yesterday. Really pleasurable staff. Friendly and polite.
