About Cafefish

In line with common sense ~ we are currently closed.

Under normal circumstances, our season runs until the last weekend in October.

We will update here as the situation develops and hopefully runs its course.

Stay safe everyone.

Cafefish Description

With a superb location on the upper terrace of the Calmac building on the Mishnish Pier and stunning sea views over the Sound of Mull, there is no better place to enjoy your freshly caught local seafood. Their own fishing boat, The Highlander, lands the catch daily around 4pm – where else will you find seafood so fresh it’s in the water two hours before gracing your plate!
Choose from lobster, langoustine, crab, monkfish, hake, turbot, oysters, scallops, salmon and whatever treasures the sea throws up – there’s a packed menu and bursting specials board to suit all. Fish and shellfish can be served either simply seasoned and grilled with a lemon wedge or more adventurously in one of Café Fish’s inspired seafood creations. You’ll also find innovative vegetarian dishes, corn-fed chicken and prime Glengorm estate steaks, homemade granary bread & desserts, coffee and homebaking adding to the charm of the small, family run restaurant. Your expectations won’t simply be met, they will be exceeded.
Café Fish offers more of a seafood experience than simply a meal. The vibe is deliberately informal, so don’t expect frills or finesse, it’s friendly and unpretentious with plenty of atmosphere, fabulous service and outstandingly fresh fish packed with flavours which speak for themselves. It is no wonder Café Fish was rated UK Fish Restaurant of the Year'by the Good Food Guide .

UPDATE : Due to the escalating Covid -19 situation, we will remain closed until further notice.
If you have paid a deposit for a dinner reservation between now and the end of May we can either return this in full or transfer your deposit to a new date this season. You don’t need to do this right now, please take your time in deciding.
In due course we will update the website and social media channels regarding a new opening date.
... In the meantime, please dont travel unless absolutely necessary - stay home and keep yourselves, your loved ones and your community safe .
Jane and Liz xx

May we take this opportunity to reassure any customers who have paid deposits to Cafe Fish for March, April and May.
Clearly we arent able to give an indication of when we can reopen ~ but with the whole country facing financial insecurity I'm sure travelling to Mull for dinner is the last thing on anyone's mind.
We can either refund deposits paid for these months or move your booking to a later date. Just get in touch.
... It's not a lot, but It's one little thing less to worry about.
take care everyone

At Café Fish there is nothing more important than customer and staff safety and wellbeing. Due to the hands on nature of preparing and serving food in a small, close environment, together with the impact of an unstable daily supply of local shellfish, we have taken the difficult decision that the most responsible course of action for our specific business at this time is to postpone opening our restaurant for the start of the season at least until more is known about the C...ovid-19 outbreak.
This is in line with World Health Organisation guidelines who favour Social Distancing to reduce the spread of the Virus. We are committed to act on their advice for the general wellbeing of our staff, our customers and our Island community.
We will review the situation on 3rd April but regret that any bookings made up to and including then are cancelled. We share our customers disappointment and frustration, and apologise for any inconvenience our decision may cause, but we are all doing our best to navigate unchartered waters at present. We can only hope that a clearer picture and further guidance will emerge over the next few days and weeks.
Nothing is more important than your health. We ask for your understanding and hope you continue to support our small, independent business & when we feel able to make an informed decision to reopen when the danger of contamination has lessened. We will update our facebook page and website accordingly. In the meantime all any of us can do is continue to look out for our loved ones and the vulnerable/health compromised living around us.
Take care and stay safe.

Opening night has arrived! In keeping with our nautical theme, we're delighted to be showcasing original artwork by the hugely talented artist and longtime friend, John Gagahan. His work is mainly local and he also does personal commisions. All acrylics are available for sale in Cafe Fish this season.
