Our cherry wine is getting better by the year. 2016's is tasting braw, and by the looks of these cherries, this year is set to be even better. To celebrate we're doing a deal on, you guessed it, cherry wine. Grab a bargain quick before this glass wears off and I remember how much those cherries cost!

Taking cuttings of the King Jimmy trees for propagation. We're at Perth Show this weekend and the Perth Farmers Market. So double trouble for the perthons and that seems to be it. I'm away to make a fool of myself at Belladrum. You've got to fight for your right to party say.

Rare footage of two clouds kissing; taken from a hammock. All clouds are sponsored by Cairn O Mohr fruit wines.

This weekend we are at the Brechin Farmers Market Markinch Highland Games and the Borders Union hingy. Cannae say muckle more as I'm needing to go somewhere. Here's some gooseberries that kind of speak for themselves. We get our goosies from Pittormie farm in Fife and Mains of Murthly near Aberfeldy.

This is brilliant, I knew nothing about it.... Subject: Polar pics
Hi Linzey!
... Here's the pics as promised. I hope they all come through OK.
The blurb that I put on my Facebook is below, if you're after some ideas:
"What better way to enjoy a trip to the North Pole and a day out on the expansive sea ice than by supporting a 'local' business. Well, local to Scotland, not the pole... I've always found Cairn o Mohr Real Fruit Wines to be a great 'icebreaker' in chilly social spots. Best enjoyed at 'cabin temperature', under the reassuring glow of twin Russian nuclear reactors."
For some background, I'm a glaciologist by background, from Scotland. These days however I work for a company called Quark Expeditions as a lecturer and guide. I work half the year in the Arctic and the other half in Antarctica. This trip, i.e. the one that I took the wine on, is to the geographic North Pole. We charter a nuclear icebreaker from the Russian government and sail from Murmansk to the pole (literally 90 degrees north), breaking thick sea ice most of the way there.. I took these pictures at the pole itself.
The ship is the '50 Years of Victory': Flagship of Russia's current atomic icebreaker fleet.
This year we hit unusually thick sea ice and it took a while to reach ninety degrees, battering through three meter-thick pack for the last hundred miles. I think it was probably an area of older, multi-year ice that had broken away and drifted in from elsewhere in the Arctic.
Anyway, from a wine marketing standpoint, people often ask what I take with me when I go off to work at the poles. Of course, I take a lot of equipment. But, I also take a handful of items to remind me of home, and to avoid getting too homesick. So, it's usually a few good Scottish teabags and, of course, a bottle of Cairn O' Mohr. :-) The reds are my favourite, especially 'Gangs wi' Haggis', if I can find it.
When not at work I split my time between Scotland and South Africa (I just arrived there yesterday), where my wife is from. I like to take Cairn O' Mohr there too, just to tease my wine mad South African in-laws. :-)
Thanks Linzey. Do let me know when you've received these photos, so I know they've come through OK.
Cheers, and I hope to speak again soon.
All the best for now, and if there's anything else I can do for you guys, let me know!
Thanks
Colin Souness

Just to break the ice here's a bottle of Bramble at the North Pole. Cool as fun as Violet said (or something similar) but how did it get there? I'll tell you later. If it's more handier you're wanting it we will be bravely entering the City Square in Dundee tomorrow for the Farmers Market. Say bravely because we got a hoor o a swearing from the chief organiser a couple of times ago for driving into the middle of it when we were no meant to. I didnae ken or I had forgotten, I ...can't remember which, however the crime was compounded by not leaving forththen but instead choosing to continue loading the van until finished followed by squeezing through two sacred fountains to escape, in order to avoid passing the the boy for another row ( I'm 61 and not needing a row). I have since seen the guy and soothed him with a tune from my moothie, when he turned up at the Errol Bowling Club last Saturday. I'm in trouble again if he reads this though. Aye I mind that day like it was tomorrow. I had cycled there and gone to the Trades bar for a soft drink. Celtic was playing St Motherwell in the final and I asked if they could change the channel so I could watch the Royal Wedding. We'll be at Cupar Market too. Did I ever tell you about the time.............

Surveying the meadowsweet patch for the Meadowsweet Cider. We got it all picked today, a good crop.

We are launching our new Blackcurrant wine tonight at The Night Market at Balgove Steak Barn! Come find us there if you fancy some as it's exclusive - you can't even get it at the winery yet! Starts at 5pm at Balgove, just outside St. Andrews.

I'm no following him any further. I ken the spelling's not quite right but I'm not risking it. It's my stop anyway. You'll need to click on it to see what I'm oan aboot. . 'Flipping burgers' as a man I know once said to me it's Friday again already. He didn't say the bit about Friday I think he was talking about something else. We've three things on this weekend. Gorgeous Rod as he likes to be called, (no dinnae I'll get into trouble again) Is doing his regular... Stirling stint at ye old Farmers Market there, so away and get your World Cup bottle from him there; after all this is the first World Cup final Scotland's ever been in (what?) The Kirrie Show is on the morn so Handy Andy will be heading up the Highway to Hell to Never Never Mind Land to punt it oot at that so come on farmer loons you could be drinking some of your own fruit even. Kim will be Thundering in Brechin city at the Harley Davidson Festival of all things Davidson coz he comes fae roond aboot there say. Personally I will be getting on a coach with the Errol bowlers to take on Monifieth in a friendly. There may be some drinking. Need to go now, I've a duel to fight with my nemesis up at The Errol Pub.

See if you're oot and aboot the day, sauntering into Morrisons in Dundee and or St Andrews will confront you with an opportunity to sample some Cairn O Mohrs and have a laugh wi Linsay in Dundee and or Lynn in St Andrews. They're oot on a tastering spree. There seems to be a waterfall of Linziziz going on here these days. Linn is a Scottish word for waterfall so that was actually very clever.

User

No had a competition for a while. First person to tell me where this bottle of Cairn O Mohr is, wins a bottle of their choice

From Arbroath to Aberfeldy today. Arbroath for raspberries, Aberfeldy for gooseberries. Here's some lovely ladies who helped me tip the trays of goosies into the dolavs. They must think Scotland's the best place in the world with this weather and perched up there, overlooking the hills around Aberfeldy. Perth Farmers Market is on tomorrow. Not sure if I'll be going, Adeline, the organiser, might cut out my intestines and throttle me with them after a comment I made on Facebook. I might be safer going to the Glamis Extravaganza wi Rod and look at the shiny old motors or I could turn Vegan and go up to Aberdeen to the Vegan Festival there. Right on. It's at Pitoddrie. Better go and water my tomaties. Waste of time like coz they're knackered.

User

Look at these mental raspberries. Is it possible to get better berries than this? No it isn't. Imagine turning top class Scottish raspberries into wine! Well that's what's going to happen to them at the Cairn O Mohr winery. Nothing but the best for you guys say. Sagaedainlike.

User

Some fine soft clouds looking over the Cairn O Mohr winery at the moment. Here's a curious mixture of lenticular and cumulous. Has anyone seen my daughter's camera charger? It's too late now, Judith's ordered another one; I don't want to find it. 50 quid!

User

Ceol na Mara - Ullapool has not long ago stocked up on cairno wines & ciders, if you're on the west coast be sure to check them oot.

User

Come to the Errol Gala tomorrow, couple of live bands, various dancing, football, horses tractors, bikes and all sorts of stalls and sideshows. It's a funky theme. I've got my plats ready. Starts at twelve with a parade doon the High street. Piper as well say. We're at the Highland show too course. Linzey's doing it. Total trooper.

User

Hello hello Royal Highland Show! We are back again in Scotland’s Live Larder on stand H03, right in the centre of the hall.
We are sampling our wines and ciders and also have the award winning non alcoholic Sparkling Elderflower with us, for the designated driver in your life.... 😁
We’ve got special offers on and also our brand new Pictish Cider in 500ml bottles. Lots of folk carrying those about!
... We’ll be doing some sort of presentation-y style chat and sampling in the Larder theatre at 1pm each day; see Linzey there later if you want to know more about the good stuff that is Cairno wines and ciders.
See you there? Sweet. 👌🍒🍓🍎🍏🍎

Young goldfinches in bird feeder training. There were five altogether and they were all over within two minutes of filling the feeder with niger seeds. The young birds werenae being persuaded, just cheeping and flapping; eventually the dad came over too to give a demonstration and five minutes later they were all over it. Sagaedainlike.

The tour was fantastic, Lindzey our tour guide was very good, really knew her stuff, it was interesting and informative. Lindzey was a hoot from the start very enthusiastic and it is obvious that she loves what she does.

Loved the tasting at the end of the tour, the wine and cider is excellent. We went into the shop we got to taste more wine and cider., including haggis which was different.

We then went in to the cafe and had a scone and coffee. I had a wholemeal with cinnamon.

Overall well worth the value and great way to taste the different wine

Linsay Warned is at the start that some people might not see the end and I was one of those people . Want to go back and do it again now (maybe a few less wines though) lol

Fantastic night at Cairn o Mohr winery - excellent storytelling from Linsay and creepy friends combined with varied wine tasting meant for a really fun event with enough spookyness to be thrilling but not too scary. Would like to do another tour in the daytime. A few bottle presents bought from the shop.
