Cairnmuir Caravans

Cairnmuir Caravans is situated just next to the B864 falls of shin road. In the private garden are 3 caravans, (a fourth is used for spare stock) each having their own view towards the river shin. They are situated far enough apart to provide privacy and to minimise normal caravan 'noise'. One caravan is a luxury model with full gas central heating, Inc bath and shower and two separate toilets and is very spacious.
Each caravan has freesat/free to air and tv, modern gas cooker, full sized under bunker fridge/freezer, shower and a microwave oven. Heating is by way of gas fire and is very cosy. We have visited in spring when the temp has dropped to minus 6 centigrade and it's been fine. Parking is available in the large onsite private car park and opposite the house. Local shops/amenities inc Spar ( post office counter inside and money withdrawal/deposit) cost cutter garage/shop, pet shop, shin fry (chip shop) and a Bank of Scotland (due to close Sept '17) mobile bank on certain days, down by the car park in Lairg off the large loch view of the dam- Recycling is covered by way of bottles and clothes at the rear of the car park. A tourist information centre is available at ferry croft , inc a lovely forest walk and ord hill, which affords a gorgeous view over the whole of Lairg encompassing a 360 degrees view all around inc looking up the huge loch shin 17miles long. As Lairg is centrally located , you can travel west,east,north and south and encompass the whole of northern Scotland quite easily in a holiday. Inverness and the highland wildlife park is further south and will require a full day to visit. We travel to Alness (approx 30miles one way) for shopping as it has a large Morrisons (petrol is noticeably cheaper) , lidl and coop amongst many other small shops and banks.

Had a lovely family break here. Carl and Kaye ,owners made us very welcome. They are now friends looking forward to our next visit. Husband enjoyed fishing for Brown trout from the river bank just a few yards from caravan door. Very safe area for dogs to run free. Will definitely be back to visit again.
