One of the city centre's best kept secrets. You'll need to walk up an uninviting lane, but it'll be well worth it. As others have noted, this is a place that you want to keep to yourself, but can't resist raving about. Service is great, very welcoming; particular without being fussy.
It's a Californian restaurant: the dishes are lighter, tastier and more inventive than you might expect from your average American-themed restaurant in Edinburgh. If you enjoy Californian wines, Calistoga pride themselves on their stock and it seems they are regular visitors to the Napa Valley.

I have eaten in Calistoga many times over the last few years. The food is consistently very good, the staff friendly and welcoming and the wine list is simply superb.
It isn't easy to find as it is located up a very small lane, but it is well worth the effort! Highly recommended.

I rarely give a restaurant five stars but Calistoga did a perfect job. We started with a delicious G&T, great entries and a superb main course. Best of all, if one can even say that, was the brownie for desert - I have never eaten such a delicious piece of bakery before. High five for Calistoga!
