A very clean hostel with a lot of pubs and restaurants around. You can start your hike from the hostel. There's a huge living room, a well equiped kitchen and the beds were very comfortable. There are three plugs per bed, unfortunately none of them worked.
Superb place with great staff and a great cafe inside with really good food!
Excellent and kind staff. Helpful young people can tell you things to do in Callander, places to eat and see. Callander Hostel is also working with Callander Youth Project which is a charity for young people.
Cheap hostel. Very well located with easy access, free car park and nice garden. Beds are a little bit uncomfortable, especially for someone who's 6'4 tall. Ok for 1 night.

No curtains in the dorm windows so sunlight comes very early
Stayed here during the summer and had a pleasant trip. I was due to be in a mixed dorm - but as there had been an issue in a group's booking and the room was overbooked, one man of a group did not have a bed. I volunteered to move to the female only dorm, which was nearly empty except for two other beds. Until I overheard the predicament, the staff had kindly offered the man an alternative to stay on the sofas but make him comfortable, which was a kind gesture - though of course he had my bed in the end! Really nice staff, clean facilities and modern. Nice little cafe and seating area. It doesn't quite meet some of the SYHA standards in other hostels, but is great in its own right for a few nights' kip. Makes a good base to see the local sights, and there's some nice walks that start just on the hostel's doorstep.
Great venue for evening functions and during the day the meals are always freshly prepared.
The work done by the youth project scheme to assist the teenagers in learning new skills and preparation for employment is fantastic.
They've got wee cage-box things under the bed to store your belongings and the breakfast was just delish...
And the settings & surroundings are top quality as well
But i was there with a bunch of screamers, so didn't really get a chance to properly appreciate it
