Rèinigeadal to Urgha, was an amazing short walk i done for the first time last week (the postmans walk) just after a short 5 min descent from the start of the walk from the road you come to the remains of a small croft which back in its day would have been beautiful. Unfortunately i have "the man flu" so once this clears up i think I'll head back out and Bivvi overnight in the remains of one of the crofts in the next week or so. Fingers crossed for some clear skies.
I was also told never to build a property that wasn't near a fresh water source....these crofters made a pretty good choice.

Last night i was walking back home via the back path at Scott road in Tarbert and i have never run so fast back to my house to grab my camera and take a selfie with our Galaxy. Lift your head up once on a while you'll be amazed at what your missing.

Another trip out to Eilean Glas Lighthouse last night. 60-70mph gusts definitely made this interesting. But standing out in this weather being battered by the elements watching 20ft swells in the ocean rising and dropping definitely reminds you that your living.

Waterfall i stumbled across when walking from Màraig to Urgha yesterday.

Pathway to the Galaxy.
The skies above the isle of Scalpay last night this image was taken at around 7pm. You have got to love the Hebrides on a crisp clear night.

Thrilled to announce that i am now going to be the resident photographer for Essence of Harris. I am delighted to have been asked to join Jamie and be a part of the team. Chapter one of my new life in the Outer Hebrides is complete lets see what chapter two has in store for me. Check the link and have a look at their web page to buy some epic smelly stuff 😀😀 https://essenceofharris.co.uk/

Luskentyre beach has been voted one of the best beaches in the world i think (in the top 10) i had it all to myself the other night at 1am. A truley magical experience that a lot of people take for granted.

User

Yesterday I took a stroll along Luskentyre beach to clear my mind and forget all my worries and problems by having some photographic therapy. and yes I do carry a bottle of Harris gin around with me just incase I see an amazing photo opportunity and I am not short of these in the isle of Harris. Another image i got today in my wee boat studio just outside my house Isle of Harris Distillers Ltd

User

So today was going to be a netflix and Duvet day but i got cabin feaver and decided to head out and shoot some images and low and behold its Harris gin 😂 there is an old boat just a few minutes walk from my house thats full of old seaweed, shells and old rope and holds quite a lot of character and i thought it would have been the perfect place for me to set up this shot. I am quite pleased with it.

I never ever get tired of the walk i take to work. When i first came to Harris years ago i knew that i was going to live here one day, and i am finally living my dream of the island life, the beauty of the landscape that surrounds me leaves me smiling from ear to ear. Ps this is a phone image looking down over Tarbert

Tràigh Nisabost
Even though its coming into winter here on the Isle of Harris you can still see the beautiful turquoise colour radiating through the waves as the crash apon the beaches of South Harris. Nothing better than the solitude of being the only man on the beach and for miles around listning to the sound of the waves as they roll in.

User

This is also another image i captured on my jaunt out to Nisabost, the contrast in colours are mind blowing.

As many of you know i recently moved to Harris, I've been here nearly 3 months now and only managed to pluck up the courage to visit this beach for the first time yesterday, i have spent many a night here in the summer months camping out under the stars, drinking wine relaxing with amazing company, sadly my other half and I are no longer together, This was our "spot". This beach holds so many secrets and amazing memories for me that i will cherish for the rest of my life, I can close my eyes and think of the good times we had at Nisabost and it will put a smile on my face in the darkest of moments. Pack a bag, go on an adventure make memories, be happy even if things dont work out.

A trip down a 14 mile single track road to Hushinish on the west coast of the Isle of Harris to find some Highland cattle. Beautiful beasts.

I have been to some of the places Callum has photographed but could never capture what he can in his photos. Usually you have to be there to really appreciate and experience the real beauty of somewhere but his photos really make you feel like you are there. He also has a real talent for making the every day into something magical. Nice work Callum!
