Calton Hill

Really worth walking up there, such a beautiful view

Great views of the city without a long walk! Great for showing visitors to Edinburgh around and pointing out monuments.

It's worth making the short, 5 minute walk up the hill from Regent Rd (where there's some pay and display parking) to the top of Calton Hill.

Views over the city are beautiful, and it provides an alternative perspective of 'Arthur's Seat' and the 'Palace of Holyroodhouse'.

If it's winter (or cold) remember that it's likely to have stronger wins at the top of the hill, so rug up!

If you’re looking for something a little less intimidating than Arthur’s Seat that can still give you some great views, this is the place to go. A fairly easy climb to the top, you can snag some great photos of the entire city of Edinburgh. Dress warm as it can be windy and chilly on the colder days!
