Best spot in Edinburgh. Lush lawn to sit around and have a picnic. Breathtaking views towards the Castle, Princes Street, the New Town, and the Firth of Forth. Occasionally, you can see cruise ships harbouring out there. The antique buildings on Calton hill offer many a spectacular perspectives on the photographs towards the distance. What was attempted to become an Acropolis-like memorial is only half finished but still enjoyable. Don't forget to walk the whole circuit to see Hollyrood House, the Parliament and Dynamic Earth from a distance as well!

The views from up here are stunning, with the ability to see across the city in all directions. You have the Scottish national monument which is impressive, views of the river, and views of the castle and the surrounding areas. Day or night it's pretty gorgeous. Nice to take a drink up and relax with.

I've been to here four times. The scenery was so amazing and unforgettable. You can see the view of Edinburgh city here. Great place for seeing sunrise and sunset.

Beautiful green area right in the centre of Edinburgh. The views are great, especially if you climb the tower, and watching the cannon being fired is fascinating. Highly recommend if you're visiting the city

It's a little green oasis in the middle of Edinburgh, Nelsons Monument, small art gallery and Cafe, remains of the old Temple and stunning view of the city. If you go there when the weather is clear you see right across the Firth to Fife. It's also a place of Edinburgh's Beltaine - annual fire festival. Lovely place

A must-do walk and hill to climb. The views are unbelievable and inspiring. The whole city centre skyline can be enjoyed from this wonderful vantage point.

It's a hill with a great view. You can see most of Edinburgh from the top. Try going there at night, it's spectacular! But bundle up, it gets windy.

There's place to picnic, and even hold events. It's also really good for watching the sunrise/sunset, and it's easier to climb than Arthur Seat.

Absolutely stunning, and for anyone visiting Edinburgh, put this on your must-do list. It's right off the end of Princes Street and right next to Waverley Station, so super close to the centre of everything, yet can almost feel like you're in the Highlands. Almost.

I recommend climbing the tower. The views here are great, of course. The Hill itself is pleasant. Nice landmarks to see. It's a less wild and physically challenging hike than Arthur's Seat but still with great views!
