Cambridge City Counselling / Psychotherapy Services Description

How counselling can help you:

Counselling is an invaluable resource of support, aiming to enable you to explore your issues, develop your self-awareness and understanding, heal, and grow in a confidential, non-judgmental, accepting space. Most people who come for counselling often tell me “I wish I had accessed counselling sooner! ” The positive outcomes of counselling can be transformational. Some people find that they only need a few sessions, however, some choose to have more. I am happy to work in both long and short term depending on what’s best for you. I’m experienced in supporting clients with a wide range of personal issues.

Areas of specialism include:

Anxiety disorders - Social Anxiety / Panic Disorder / Generalised Anxiety Disorder
Young people from 11yrs +
Depression
Family and relationship issues
Anger issues
Low confidence and self-esteem
Body dysmorphia
Developing self-awareness
However, I am happy to work with other issues you bring along to counselling.

Call, message or email for a no-obligational discussion to see if counselling could benefit you. I am happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

How I work:

I am a Person-Centred Counsellor and work in an eclectic way, and am able to adapt my approach according to your needs. I use many theories to inform my knowledge and understanding, such as: Gestalt, Existential, Focusing, Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapies, and Compassion Based Therapy.

I focus my practice on providing you with a safe, accepting, non-judgmental, respectful space in which you can feel free to explore your personal issues.

I have a first class BA (Hons) Degree in Person Centred Counselling awarded from the University of East Anglia and the University of Essex. I have a BETEC Diploma in Counselling skills from Great Yarmouth College, and am a registered Member of British Association in Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) working towards accreditation. I regularly participate in further training to enhance my practice and skills.

My experience:

I have experience of working with organisations such as Centre 33, and Access Community Trust. I spent time working as an addictions counsellor for Open Road, and as a trainee tutor for the Access to Counselling Course at Great Yarmouth College. I am currently a counsellor for two secondary schools, and an Independent college in Cambridgeshire.

I charge £55 per session including the first initial assessment.

Online sessions are £45 per session

I currently have subsidised and concessionary appointments available upon request.

Business and Corporate packages - fees available on request

Don't be put off from contacting us for financial reasons - we will always try to help wherever possible.
