Here to work and improve your English but can't afford an English course in Cambridge?

There is a big problem in Cambridge among young EU workers. They arrive hoping to improve their English, but later find they aren't improving as much as they expected.

Working long hours or lack of contact with native speakers can mean that your English gets stuck at the same level. You begin to realise that you need to do something to improve further. You need an English course.

But living in Cambridge is expensive enough already without the cost of a course at a local language school. How can you afford it if you work in a low-paid occupation? How can you find time to go to a class if you work different hours each week?

The reason these courses are so expensive is that the school has to pay for the building, the bills, the administration staff etc. Without all these extra costs, an English course would be much cheaper.

This was the inspiration for Cambridge English Club. It's just you, your classmates and me in a cheap room in the city centre. By keeping costs to a minimum, we can all benefit. .

You can attend classes whenever you have the time or energy, with a minimum of commitment. You and your classmates can decide when and what you need to study. I am evening considering a morning class during the week for those who work evenings and weekends (e. g. hospitality workers). If you would like to attend such a class, let me know.
