Come along to our Open Day on Sunday 5th May to find out more about gliding. Our friendly pilots and experienced instructors will be pleased to answer your questions. We will also be offering Trial Gliding Lessons at the Open Day using a choice of winch launch, aerotow or motor glider.

Glider pilots don't hibernate in the winter - in addition to the regular winter flying, a lot is going on in the workshop to keep our gliders polished and ready for the season ahead!

Christmas is getting closer and it also means summer is on its way! It has been a fantastic year at Cambridge Gliding Centre. Here is a picture of where our gliders flew on the summer solstice this year to remind you of what one can do without an engine - some members flew as far as 750km. We are looking forward to another splendid soaring season ahead!

Ho Ho Ho! Yesterday we had Santa flying in and bringing presents to the Christmas Party at Gransden Lodge. Over 20 prizes and trophies were given out to the members and cadets who achieved so much in gliding in the past year, and helped improving the clubhouse and making our club a more friendly and social place for everyone. Another beautiful day at Gransden Lodge Airfield. Our pre-solo members have been practising their flying in high wind conditions, while the experienced ones enjoyed the challenging weather. Visited here twice this year with scout groups. Although the gliding and instruction for us was provided by a scout group, the facilities and people at CGC are excellent. Friendly, welcoming atmosphere.

Thanks to all for a great day's gliding, three aero tows and a bonus winch launch too - shame the thermals were a little elusive but didn't detract from an awesome day out.

Will definitely be back for another flight!

Lucky day. Extremely helpful and friendly people here that so I'm told are mainly volunteers! Whilst my flight was fairly short it has given me the bug to go again for a longer and higher experience. I can't recommend this place enough. If you've never tried then take the plunge.

If you are looking for something a bit different try Gliding. Amazing experience.

Had an absolutely amazing experience at the centre today - many thanks to Andy for being a great instructor and all-round excellent bloke! I never imagined the experience would be as good and I really hope to return!

Had a fantastic day, highly recommend it for anyone who wants some fun. Thank you

Great place to get the ground off your feet or just chill out and watch the action. Visitors always welcome, family friendly with refreshments available plus a well stocked bar!

Excellent indeed in every way. We were so glad we chose the Cambridge Gliding Centre for my Mother in Laws first glider trial. She is 80 years of age, and the entire staff and people made it a highly successful and memorable event. They handled her professionally, and with great charm throughout.

She absolutely loved the flight, and is eager for another .

I thoroughly recommend anyone to have a go, with the Cambridge Glider Centre. They are a fantastic crew.
