Afternoon all - hope you enjoyed your run this morning. Milton Country Park are having their Autumn Festival tomorrow. It's one of their major fundraising events of the year. Please consider going along to support the park and have some fun!

Will always have a soft sport for Cambridge parkrun, without it I wouldn't be a runner. Friendly, with a good cafe on site.

Why is there not a 6??? What is there not to love? The best way to start the weekend

User

We made the trip from "The Frozen North" (Newcastle) to do Cambridge parkrun in memory of Marcus Gynn who raved about Milton Park. I ran it ill and injured and still absolutely loved it. What a beautiful and brilliantly organised course with fabulous marshals. I only wish it wasn't a 4 hour drive because I'd be there every week.

Thank you for having us!x

User

Very busy but great course..a bit flatter than my usual Parkrun at Dewsbury. Excellent seamless organisation and enthusiastic marshals. Thank you!

User

This is a really well organised and welcoming event. I am a complete beginner and very slow but have always receive masses of encouragement and support from volunteers and runners. The course is narrow and you need to be aware of the fast runners coming past but it's never been a problem for me.

I never thought I would be able to run but I've done 6 now and I can feel myself getting better each time.

User

This is a lovely location with a great woodland and lakeside course, although it gets very muddy over the winter months. The Parkrun volunteer team are brilliant for organising such a large event, week in week out. Thanks to everyone who is involved.

User

Nothing better to do on a Saturday morning I love it and it's really helped with my half marathon training.

User

My first run! Not ran for 24 years, due to serious knee injuries and obesity! Only done c25k for one week, but thought id give it a try! Not ran more than ┬Į mile without walking, but yesterday, i got carried along with the others, and never stopped running for the whole 5k! Was hoping to beat 40 mins, but cracked it in 34m 54s!

User

My first ever parkrun and will always be here to my heart love the curves, twists and bridges

User

IŌĆÖm only on my 7th Park run but totally addicted already ! Well organised , great energy from everyone involved ! ’┐Į’┐Į

User

Did my first #parkrun today. Had a great time, brilliantly organised and smoothly run by the volunteers! I'll be back

User

Despite the large numbers itŌĆÖs a great run. Narrow and twisting path round the lakes. Excellent organisation. Great Marshals.

User

Definitely in my top five parkruns out of 295 run so far. Lovely course, great organisation and energy, not to mention top quality post-parkrun cake! A great example of a parkrun with a clearly passionate core team ’┐Į

User

Cambridge parkrun for me holds the accolade of muddiest puddles. On a wet day or wet days leading up to parkrun - you must wear trail shoes if you have them.

On dry days road shoes will be fine.

Excellent RD and fantastic volunteers. Loved the organisation and the support throughout. Thank you for all that you guys do!

Cambridge Junior parking is so friendly and a great course for the little people...we loved it ’┐Į

User

A lovely ParkRun with a passionate and engaged team of volunteers. The best thing I found moving to England was Cambridge ParkRun.

User

A great workout outdoors :)

Love the supporters on the side edging us on :)

Very muddy these days, but can't be helped I guess :)

User

A great social run, friendly, exceptionally well-managed, a very high rate of volunteering, convenient cycle-distance location, option to prepay for on-location parking with a season, six-monthly, or annual, ticket.

Fast runners and steadier runners, have a positive interaction; due to keep-left policy to allow faster runners to easily overtake. Also due to general positive role-models.. (such as frequent race-winner, Chris Darling).

Although the multi-lap course, and high attendance numbers, mean that dog-runners aren't able to participate, interactions between runners and dog-walkers, other park users, is usually very positive and non-runners are given space and respected.

The course is well-signed, with marshalls, and a finish funnel area. The first lap can get congested or muddy, but the second and third laps, tend to have a lot more space. The course varies between earth, forest-trail, and a compacted aggregate trail surface. Ideally shoes that allow for grip, but give comfort on the bumpy areas, work well. I wear totally waterproofed, high grip, running shoes in wet weather, and run through mud and puddles..

The new runners briefing, and friendly tail-runner role, means that all abilities are included.

User

Really nice parkrun course, very well organised and friendly. Could easily be a PB course if it wasn't so busy or if you do it as a freedom run. Pathways are narrow throughout and you do need to be aware of the speedys as you do one of the circuits twice but because it's so well organised there are lots of keep left signs so overtaking can happen on the right and there were also lots of people shouting keep left when a much faster runner was coming which I thought was great. I also really liked that because they are so busy (over 500 runners) the start had expected finish times which also helped though did mean we didn't pass the start line for almost a minute after the claxon but its a run not a race so it's only a problem if you take it too seriously. Really lovely park and venue, would do again if in the area.
