first time visiting for 2 nights - room was beautiful, when room was not ready on time we were offered complimentary drinks on the bar and the room was ready in no time at all, luggage waiting in room. ate at the Cameron grill - good atmosphere and, the claret jug which is price friendly. Booked in for sea plane which was cancelled the first day but we managed to take off the day after. We will be back !! Takes lots of money !!

We had a most enjoyable stay for our 25th Wedding Anniversary; all of the staff were friendly and courteous, the room had a wonderful dual aspect across the loch. The food was delicious and the choice of whisky was outstanding. Hoping to return again for more pampering and relaxation in a superb setting.

My boyfriend booked me a surprise night away and this is where he booked and i could not have been happier! Our room was immaculate, the food was stunning. And to top it all off, he proposed! Couldnt think of a better place to start off our new chapter in our lives .

I attended my friends 50th party and was also playing in the band Splash. We have played hotels all throughout Europe and have to say was so delighted that we have such a great hotel in Scotland. Management team we're so helpful when we arrived as we're the waiting staff later that night. Buffet was just simply superb and the food was wonderful and plenty of it as well. Beautiful views the next morning as we sat in the Great Scots Bar having coffee as the kids went to the amazing pool again with great views.

Simply class you expect from a great hotel ;)

Have been coming to Cameron House for almost 10 years now, and it never fails to impress! Most recent trip yesterday was for my mums birthday, it was her 1st visit & she loved it. Huge thanks to Glenda for organising our afternoon tea, which was fab & mum loved her wee 'birthday cake' and to Ally (could be wrong here, just caught a quick glance at his name) for the lovely little cameron house bear given to my son - we have named him Cameron & will bring him on our next visit. See you all again soon x

Had a fantastic night at Cameron House. Check in was fast and easy, on arriving to our room it was more than what we expected. A nice welcome note to enjoy our stay and some complimentary chocolates. Bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in and the decor was so relaxing. Sat in the bar for drinks with a great atmosphere then spent dinner at duck bay which was a great meal and only a short walk from the hotel. Breakfast was again faultless with extremely helpful staff. Thanks for a lovely experience at Cameron House ☺️

Had a fantastic morning with my daughter x

Had a fabulous day using the leisure facilities and a delicious Sunday lunch. The staff in the Cameron grill were wonderful, giving my friend some lovely sweets for her birthday. Such a nice touch. I was there on the 5pm deal, would love to see it offered again as it was a great day.

User

Came here for our mini-moon and it was amazing from start to finish, we got upgraded without asking and bubbly as a surprise for dinner what a lovely touch, guests that are made happy will return!

User

Absolutely beautiful!!!

Had a fantastic meal and our waitress was Kelsey she was so helpful, friendly and cheerful.

We used the leisure facilities before our meal which were first class, so all in all a fantastic day had by all. Thank you Cameron House.

User

Rooms extraordinary. Well appointed and one of the most beautiful bathrooms we've encountered. Poor service/long delays in the great Scott's bar. Opted for breakfast in the room but when it arrived wrong order and cold. Would go back but not in a rush.

My husband and I have just returned from a - night stay on your DBB rate, the 4 star I have given is for the hotel decor , beautiful room and surroundings. Were it not for that I would have given 2 starts at best. This 5* hotel is so badly let down by terrible service. We had the same disappointing service on our 1st visit over a year ago but decided to try again, sadly to be let down again! We had lunch yesterday in the bar, it didn't appear to be busy and yet we waited 15 minutes to be served then another 10 to get drinks, not a great start. We had a table booked in The Grill at night and the service was really poor, we waited 45 mins from sitting down before we got our drinks, food order was mixed up, our amous Bouche never arrived and no one came to offer me another drink, our complaints were passed on to the lady in charge on the night. We were then looking forward to an after diner drink in the bar to relax . On our arrival into the bar 2 separate customers stormed out quite vocally due to waiting half an hour on drinks at that pop by the atmosphere in the bar was awful, it felt like at any moment an argument could kick off as everyone seemed discontent with the service, this was my main disappointment, the bar is stunning, there was one barman on duty, I work in the hospitality industry and therefore know good service is not hard to provide, the barman had no personality, if he had had some banter with his customers it might have helped break the awful atmosphere but he was at best irritated looking. We had 1 very quick drink and retired to our room. The queue for check out was too long for us to pass this on this morning but Cameron House we won't be back .

User

Just back from our overnight stay at Cameron House and It was lovely. We dined at Restsurant Martin Wishart which was just amazing, couldn’t have asked for better service. The room itself was spotless and had a gorgeous view of the loch. The only reason that I have not given the hotel a 5 Star was mainly due that I had given details that we were saying for my fiancés birthday which they noted at the time but nothing was really done as a gesture like other similar hotels. Part from that minor detail I would highly recommend a stay, well worth a visit.

User

Really disappointed! I was staying there on business. I stayed in room 130. Firstly I couldn’t find it. Eventually I asked a member of staff and she wasn’t sure. The room was accessed up a spiral stair case. I noticed that the wall paper in places was damaged down to the plaster.

Really disappointed in the cleanliness of the room. One of the sinks had a massive crack in it. The standard lamp was really dusty and the windows had black mildew around the frame. The desk also needed dusting.

I decided to have my breakfast in my room. Following the instructions on the card I pre ordered my food request a specific time slot. The card said that the order needed to be outside my room by 0300 - which it was. This morning I sat and waited and waited. No breakfast! Eventually I checked the door and the card was still there. I phoned room service and they brought food up. Wrong order and barely warm. By now I was running short of time so I had to just eat it and get on with it.

No WiFi in the suite that the conference was taking place in, which means I wasn’t able to work.

My fiancé and I visited Cameron house on the 18th feb as a Valentine's celebration and to also book our wedding, I was so excited, I first visited this place 14 years ago and it was always my dream to marry there, sadly though we didn't have a pleasant experience and ended up checking out early the next morning, we initially expressed our disappointment to the wedding co ordinator Louise at the time who didn't endeavour to amend this so further to that our p.a is dealing with this via email ...... We are still awaiting a response, extremely lacking in communication and customer service skills.

User

Had dinner at the Grill on Saturday evening and lunch at the Spa Saturday afternoon. Came from Dubai for my sisters Henny. 12 ladies It was the company that made this event special. Not the venue.

Firstly on arrival at Spa , your glass main doors needed such a clean , covered in finger prints first thing in the morning. Ashley, my masseuse was great 10 out of 10.

Our lunch we were accommodated earlier so no complaint there but a fly trapped inside vinegar bottle which we all used over our chips and salad was vile. The small gesture to recompense wasn't enough.

In the evening after almost a year of back and forth communication with "the Grill " we were told quite rudely that our split tables and isolation in the restaurant was because they had no way to communicate with us and didn't even know if we were going to turn up. Email trail proved this to be an untruth. We were given each a complimentary glass of prosecco. ( 3 Non drinkers ) which we all had to carry ourselves to our new table ( cramped) in the main part of the restaurant almost 45 minutes after we arrived. Our food order was not taken until we had been there over one hour. Rachel the young waitress was the highlight of our meal. She has such a lovely manner it saved from me complaining on the evening. I am only reviewing my own experience on here however in my party of 12 I know that 4 others did not eat their main meal. My starter of crab and shrimp salad was mediocre and I could have rustled this up at home in seconds. Not 5 star. For sure. I can also truly say that my rib eye steak was the worse piece of over cooked chewy and tough steak I have ever (not) eaten in a restaurant. And my 7 French fries were cold in the centre. As many on this page state this does not deserve its 5 star status. I found it over priced and not great quality. Service lacked greatly too. My one positive feedback is whoever makes the bloody Mary's thankfully I do like mine very very spicy. Our main girl "the Hen" is vegetarian and she couldn't have even one forkful of her dinner as the menu did not indicate that her risotto would be a very hot (spicy) porridge. All in all poor show Cameron House. Your location saved you. Not your quality or service.

We had been in two other 5* hotels in Scotland this was our last visit and was most looking forward to it. One girl in reception was very helpful said come back at 3pm. Went in Bar had lunch and a drink. Poor Wi-Fi. Went back at 2.55 and was told have you been called, advised no she said it’s not 3pm. Apparently my room was ready but she didn’t look. Upgraded to a suite by the hotel 2 weeks prior. Disappointed in the suite it was fair. Tv didn’t work had maintenance there for 45 minutes. No Wi-Fi in room so we had to take our laptops to the bar to work. Wi-Fi very poor. Shower was leaking, tiles needed regrouting. Should have had a Loch view we did at a stretch. Went to dinner in the grill, looking forward to a great meal, food was average and food was VERY slow. That being said our server was very attentive. To top it all we waited 20 minutes to get our car, just summed up our poor stay. Checked out today and room was over charged. I will be taking this further....

User

I went with my family, hubby and two boys, for the day. Unfortunately, the day trip started disastrously because my son slipped and fell trying to cross over a waterlogged path to get to the main hotel from the leisure centre car park. The leisure centre entrance was closed and all path ways waterlogged. There was no easy access to get to the main hotel entrance and no signs to indicate alternative entrance. His trousers were wet and muddy and he was extremely upset. Upon entering the leisure centre through the hotel, we were told there was another entrance which was not helpful as there are no signs outside. I managed to wash trousers and asked for them to be put on radiator to dry as my son had nothing else to wear when leaving the hotel. After two hours they were still not dry so the reception staff suggested putting them in the tumble dryer. I wish they had suggested laundering them earlier. We waited another half hour and they were still slightly damp. What a disappointment. The jacuzzi was also out of action which was disappointing. All in all, it could have been a lot better.

User

I love visiting the hotel and looked forward to an afternoon of lunch on the new terrace. Hotel is beautiful, location is perfect however, the service was a let down. We ordered coffee which took about 20 mins to arrive and then asked for someone to take our lunch order and an hour later we still hadn't ordered. I completely understand when a place is under staffed or extremely busy but this wasn't the case and it was just poor service. I'm not one for complaining but I was very disappointed and yesterday wasn't the first time I've had this experience at the hotel.
