What beautiful countryside ! 10 day sit in the quaint wee village of Great Horwood in a huge charming 5 bedroom cottage set on the village green with one very energetic but adorable collie called Poppy and her sidekick wee rascal Jack Russell - Marley – think he got called Bob or Mutley more often than not ! So many wonderful walks through the surrounding fields and lanes and further afield to the Grand Union Canal and the River Thames at Oxford – the dogs loved it, as did Dave and I. Popped into Stonehenge enroute to Cardiff – so busy and you’re not allowed to walk through them – not as peaceful or atmospheric as our Calanais Standing Stones or Ring of Brodgar.

Couple of days out with Aggie up the banks of Loch Lomond. Inversnaid Hotel which can only be reached by a single track road and is at the end of the track as was Rowerdennan. Most visitors come in by water bus from Luss and Balmaha. Another day we took a boat over Lake Menteith to Inchmaholme Priory, so lucky with the weather and Aggie loved exploring all the new smells – fun times.

Just spent last weekend housesitting the beautiful Aggie, an eight month old Labrador pup in her home in the stunning 4000 acre Lanrick Estate on the outskirts of Doune. Lots of beautiful walks along the banks of the River Teith which ran along the bottom of the garden and near Deanston Distillery. Aggie kept us on our toes wanting to play all the time and kept us amused with her antics – puppy love

Sunday took a wee wander up The Knock with the girls. Stunning scenery and lots of activities going on in the grounds of Crieff Hydro, amazing place to take kids. Of course us big kids had to finish the walk off with a nice latte and scones at The Basecamp.

Lovely weekend spent housesitting in the market town of Crieff. Friday enjoyed strolling round the beautiful Drummond Castle Gardens of course accompanied by Ruby and Lucy. Stunning.

Our 2nd sit in the beautiful Dalmeny Estate on the shore of the river Forth watching the delightful Millie, Fudge the budgie and a very old goldfish. Loving the tranquillity and stunning scenery. First night was spent with friends Duncan and Lorraine, who themselves operate two other small group tour companies Edinburgh Daytours and Abercrombie Tours, enjoying a bbq on the beach and a few wee refreshments. Yesterday we visited Cramond Island, never been here before even th...ough on our doorstep. You can only walk the ¾ mile causeway at low tide so have to make sure you return before the tide turns. It does though offer extensive views east to Granton and Leith, west to North Queensferry and the three bridges and north to the other small islands in the Forth and Fife. Looking forward to exploring more of this Estate and just chilling in the next few days.

Dave and I have been slowly trying to ease into retirement and decided that our month long trip with the lovely Debbie Mackenzie last September was to be our last for Cameron Tours of Scotland ☹ Dave and I still trying to escape from Muirs and DPD but we will hopefully hang up our hats very soon. We have recently been housesitting locally building up our experience with different types of animals and learning how to deal with a varied selection of different types of lifes...tyles and locations in preparation for when we go travelling to Australia at the end of the year for six months. Thereafter if we have enjoyed the travel and being away from home so long then we will come home to Scotland for the summer and pack up the house and go travelling wherever we fancy for the next couple of years. With Cameron Tours of Scotland we have made so many wonderful friends over the years and it is with this in mind that we would love to catch up with as many as possible on our travels. We don’t want to be rushing about but would like to experience the areas we go to so the housesitting will be an ideal way to help us subsidise our travel but also let us experience the surroundings like a local and at the same time having fun with pets along the way. If any of you would like us to add you to our “must visit” list then please let us know. It will not be till 2021 onwards but it will give us an idea of countries or even states to add into the timeline. I am shortly going to change the name of this page from Cameron Tours of Scotland to Cameron Tours on Tour and will post photos and stories of our housesitting and travels along the way. When we are on the road it will be comforting to know you are all with us and help and advice is only a post away ! Can’t wait for the adventure to begin !

Driving round Mull yesterday to Calgary Bay and onto Tobermory we encountered a few of the locals, inquisitive and in no hurry to move out of the way

Got to spend a fab weekend on Mull with Debbie and Dave on the 3rd weekend of her tour - at the beautiful Glengorm Castle. This place was even better the second time round as we got to relax and enjoy our stunning surroundings - even had a bbq out the front ! (or back whichever way you look at it !) We were joined by Tilly one of the owner's dogs who enjoyed a sausage or two.

Everything is closed on Lewis on a Sunday – apart from the churches. Guess where we went to soothe our souls, but also for the yummy scones and lemon cake afterwards. Then on a blustery day we visited Dun Carloway Broch and the atmospheric Calanais Standing Stones followed by a wee picnic on the beach at Uig Sands – fab day with Debbie Mackenzie and Dave Cameron.
