When we are feeling low it can be hard to keep perspective on things. It can be reassuring to remember what things we have control over and can make small changes to, and what areas we have no control over so just need to let go of.

Some good advice from Square Peg Coffee Club
Does this seem familiar? Sometimes flipping the switch from uninterested seems impossible but with some clever use of special interests, we can help engage our youngsters.
Speak to teachers about tweaking projects to involve your child’s special interests. We found this useful with a project on transport in Scotland. By removing the need to focus on ferry routes and allowing the fascination with flight to become central to the project the work became interesting and not such a chore. Flexibility like this should be available to children with ASD provided the learning outcomes are met.
