I paint most days & use oils, acrylics, water colours & inks.

I have been painting since I was in my teens, learning as I grew up. I achieved a GCE in art. Drawing and designing were my favourite things to do for many years. When I was about 30, I decided to get more qualifications in art / graphics as I enjoyed it so much. This I did, for several years, eventually gaining a BSc Hons. QTS in Design Technology and I moved into teaching in Secondary Schools.
I didn't get much painting done at all because of the heavy workload. After 11 years I started teaching privately, due to a very bad back.
This allowed me to have more time to paint. Over the next 8 years, I felt my paintings were improving greatly. Canvas sizes started to grow . . . from A3 up to 100 x 50 cm, as did my confidence.
I had only used oil paints and gouache up until 4 years ago, but now my main pieces of work though are done in oil paints and my abstract pieces in acrylic.
