Carluke Development Trust needs to hear **YOUR** voice as part of a new short survey, which includes the chance to win a £25 Amazon Gift Voucher. Make your voice heard at: https://bit.ly/CC2survey
The first Carluke Conversation listened to your views and aspirations for a future Carluke. Over 500 of you responded, helping to achieve the following;
... • The acquisition of Carluke High Mill for the community • The launch of a new environmental improvement and community engagement programme • Creating a new ONECarluke Making Places groups establishing community leadership in local regeneration. • Expanding Carluke on the Run and Jam and Ham community events.
The second Carluke Conversation aims to bring together your ideas, explore local issues in more depth and to assess potential initiatives to improve life and work in Carluke. We also want to see if the High Mill site could deliver these initiatives.
We’ll achieve this by exploring three themes; 1.) Life, Work & Wellbeing, 2.) Active Communities and 3.) Enterprising Communities
Keep the conversation alive and make YOUR voice heard by completing our survey here: https://bit.ly/CC2survey If you’d like to see the results for the first Carluke Conversation and High Mill surveys, you can do so by visiting: https://carlukeconversation.org/

***Men’s Shed takes root in Carluke!***
This year saw the Carluke High Mill transfer into community ownership.
Carluke’s communities now have an amazing opportunity to get involved in shaping what the Carluke High Mill site becomes.
... One such opportunity is the creation of a Carluke Men’s Shed Group based within the Carluke High Mill.
Over the next few months a mobile Men’s Shed will be at the Leisure Centre in Carluke every Monday and Tuesday from 10am-2:30pm allowing everyone of whatever age or background an opportunity to see and talk about what Carluke’s Men’s Shed could become.
Paul Creechan, Development Officer for Men’s Shed said “There are ample opportunities for people to take advantage of this really popular way to get out of the house, enjoy a hobby and mix with great people.
INTERESTED? Then come along to our “official launch” on Monday 29th October, 10am – 2.30pm at the Leisure Centre in Carluke. Together, over a cuppa (and maybe some cake) we’ll explore this fantastic opportunity for Carluke – ALL ages and backgrounds welcome.
You can also contribute to the Men’s Shed conversation through the ‘Carluke Conversation 2’ days where you’ll have the opportunity to explore how Carluke High Mill could inspire a brighter future for everyone in Carluke.

Case Study 2: From Highmill Windmill - Carluke. We would like to propose this amazing organisation in Helensburgh as a potential idea for what we could do with part of the space in the buildings at the new Carluke HighMill. This would be part of the LONG term vision...
They have amazing films, arts events, have shows streamed into their viewing space etc. Take a look at the services they can provide in their community with the help of a band of volunteers?
What benefits could... various age groups gain from a centre like this? Are there enough people who could help to volunteer as well..if so what skills could be gained? All thoughts and ideas gratefully accepted... so please comment below. ALSO - register your thoughts at the Carluke Conversation 2..
