About Carnoustie Coastguard Association

CCA was founded in the early 80's at the time Carnoustie Coastguard started their first bonfire in front of the station for family and friends. It became popular with residents year after year, quickly outgrowing it's original location and for safety reasons had to be moved to it's current location at the 'Black Slab', now in conjunction with the Gala Committee's 'Torchlight Parade' this event has become one of Carnoustie's main events of the year but this event only takes place due to the generosity of the residents as we receive no outside financial help. All the association work is done outwith our official duty to HM Coastguard. We are a registered charity in Scotland and have taken part in fundraising for a variety of organisations including Rebecca House, Children with special needs and Handicapped swimming clubs, more recently Carnoustie Coastguards have taken part in a sponsored walk to raise funds for 'Help for Hero's'. The Coastguard team here in Carnoustie also act as waiters at the annual Pensioners Christmas and Burns supper nights at the British Legion. We ask and thank you for your continued support for the 'Coastie Bonfire Night'.

Hi Everyone,
Hopefully the weather holds out for the weekend so we can have the annual fireworks display in Carnoustie.
As usual the display is planned to start at approximately 1900 at the black slab, once the torch lit parade has been completed and we have got everyone safely away from the fire.
... We appreciate all the support from the community. The event is organised by volunteers and paid for by donations, without which we would not be able to run the display.
Hope to see a big crowd on Saturday, we have another big display organised!

Hi All, After some uncertainty this year we are pleased to announce that the annual bonfire and fireworks display will be going ahead on Saturday 4th of Nov 2017. Usual location and times. Many thanks to all of the support from individuals, organisations and businesses we have received for this years event which is the first one that will take place without Lindsay Martin at the helm. We look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday night!

We are all extremely shocked and saddened by the news of the passing of our leader and Station Officer, Lindsay Martin. We shall miss his guidance, advice, humour and all the fun times we have had during our service at Carnoustie Coastguard. Our thoughts and sympathies go out to Norma and all the Martin family. A true gentleman who will never be replaced. May you rest in peace LM.
From all your coastie officers.
