Cashel Camping In The Forest Site
Reviews
stayed for 2 nights first day weather was brilliant second day not so good the (tent) pitches are ok rocky but campable unless it rains then its water logged campsite is clean and tidy well kept toilets and showers are spotless and the showers are really good staff at the place are fantastic too will defo be back and recommend the campsite to friends and family but will pay the extra for a pitch with electric and better ground too hopefully see yous in a few weeks all down to weather as camping in the rain is no fun
Toilets were very clean and showers and staff were lovely will be back in two weeks we enjoyed it that much
This is our favourite campsite ever. Wonderful spot right by Loch Lomond, great wee shop with tasty freshly baked goods, lovely welcome from always friendly helpful staff (I think they are husband and wife), plus good size, clean toilet/shower block. We went twice last year and the year before and will have to go again this year. I go with my two sons, now both teenagers, and last year we parked up and didn’t drive anywhere for 5 days. So much beautiful countryside to explore and the Loch for swimming, boating, body boarding or just sitting watching the water. We swam and kayaked to a nearby island. The perfect spot for getting away from it all.
This is a well kept camp site with good facilities and a great wee shop. The staff are so warm and friendly and always take time to chat. I've visited the past three years and would highly recommend it.
This is a fantastic campsite on the edge of Loch Lomond, great views and great facilities and great staff, the road is a bit tight getting there but it’s well worth it. If you are in a motorhome make sure you have all your provisions and then you won’t have to trek out of the site. We would definitely stay here again.
Right in the banks of Loch Lomond with all the views available by looking out of the window it is a beautiful place
Friendly welcoming staff, who seem willing to go out of their way to help and make your stay special
I’ve been here three times before and hope to visit many more times
Lovely peaceful place with loads of walks to enjoy we’ll definitely be back!
I loved this campite. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The washing machine and dryer were a bit expensive, £2 For 20 minutes of drying but amazing hot shower, clean toilet block, the shop was really cheap and they charged your phone for 50p! They made you hot 'On the go' food and sold everything i needed while doing the West Highland Way. I would go back here for a camping trip. Right o the water and kayaks etc can be organised In advance. Oh and there's a lovely stray cat, this made me happy...
Great camp site lovely wardens cleen site & showers 1 of the best, But Gest on site don't do rules ie DOG on LEADS & POOP picking up seems to only apply to the good peaple with years of experience on camp sites.
Fantastic place, so peaceful and beautiful views, such a dog friendly place my 3 loved it, the shop on site was a life saver had everything you need, showers and toilets were super clean all the staff was lovely, we will definatly be back for more holidays fell in love with the place
Stunning location, clean toilets. Only 4 stars because of staff. Friday and Saturday staff were fantastic but Manager could have been a little bit more flexible regarding parking and visitors. Just a very small point but it was important to us.
Great location...... horrendous road surfaces in rural Scotland which sadly continue onto the site it’s time the CC got its act together on a programme of site refurbs, it’s not as if this site struggles for campers £71 + for 3 nights 1 pensioner! I found staff very pleasant, toilet/ shower block spotless with a good selection of essentials in the shop....hope site roads are a priority??
Beautiful views of the Loch. Friendly staff. Clean toilets and showers and shop is quite well stocked with essentials.
The location is beautiful. The pitch was expensive over the Easter weekend and the site could have done with some TLC for the amount we paid - lots of pot holes. Facilities were reasonable - typical of this kind of site. Don’t stay here if you have children who like ball games or you like a camp fire as these are not allowed. It’s a shame there were so many huge caravans -presumably there for the season - which were stood empty, it doesn’t create a great camping atmosphere.
If you want a relaxing break this is the place to be . Nothing on site except shop, & nothing close at hand. Need car to get any where. No noise between 10pm & 9am. No ball games or fires aloud. Dogs must be on lead at all times even down at waters edge. Road leading up to site a disgrace and on site not any better. Shower block clean. Only 1 waste disposal working for whole site. Because we arrived early charged extra, only a £1, & £3 because we asked for pitch next to water, even though site was quiet and no mention of extra costs on booking . main barrier is locked at 10pm tough if you venture out at night
Good little site if all u want is ur boat on the water or if ur passing through doing The West Highland Way. If camping the ground is very rocky. The toilet block is very clean. Gates get locked at 2200hrs which is a down side as if u want to go out for food or any other reason then ur car is locked out. Shop well stocked and a 12 o'clock departure time. There's only three camp site's on that side of the loch and that's the second one I've been to. The other was run by the forestry commission and this site is better.
Lovely campsite somewhat ruined by the horrid husband and wife team that manage the site.. never met such rude and curt individuals ..far better when the commission had it and was run by locals
Very rude staff who also tried to charge us extra despite our booking having been paid for. Bit of a shame as the location is beautiful.
Awful!! Avoid,
The property itself is stunning, it's drastically let down by the staff. They have No idea what they are doing/saying, and they are very vile and rude. Which made our holiday horrible. We lasted 2nights.
To the staff: you can think things by all means-you are entitled, however when you mutter under your breath about folk whom are standing right in front of you, it's rude, it's shamefull and you ought to be ashamed of yourself and embarrassed at your behaviour. Got news for you, if you don't like the public or struggle to work with them , then you are in the wrong job, it would be cruel for you to stay in this industry. For your sake and ours. Serioulsely never ever felt the need to review anywhere more, and honestly Ive never written a review like it.
Sad times 😔
