Complimentary can be any form of treatment or management of a physical or psychological complain that complement what the treatment by a doctor. The combinations of the two might be more effective than either one used separately. Many now use both to relieve pain and discomfort.
About 25 years ago after recovery from an illness and taking lots of medication, I met an old friend who advised me to try complimentary therapies (reflexology). I was amazed with the results and the speed of my recovery. During my training on reflexology, I was one of the first nurses to help to write a policy for NHS patients to receive treatment in south Essex .

Since then I have carried on gaining more qualifications on complimentary therapies and have always provided this service for my NHS patients and working alongside their doctor and hospital consultants both in general and psychiatry hospitals

I am a Member of the Royal college of Nursing (RCN) Complimentary Forum, the Association of Reflexology. I am also an Associate member of the International Association of Aromatherapist and a Member of the Association of the No Hands Massage.
