Bought a car yesterday. No V5 and clutch went on the way home!! Sold as seen im told, think i over paid as it is with the buyers fee nearly the same as the car i bought. By the time I pay for a V5 and clutch I will have paid well over the odds for this shed :(

Every car needs work! Some more than others(even the expensive stuff) theres a reason these cars are at auction and not on a dealer forecourt, Dealers can't sell cars they think have serious issues as they will just have the car returned under warranty.

Make sure you do you homework, check what similar cars sell for on Autotrader, Gumtree etc. You can end up paying strong retail money for a car you are buying blind. No test drive, no checking service history etc etc. Buy and automatic car and get 200 yards down the road and realise its goosed and you have done your money!!

On a positive note a worthwhile experience will do it again soon

Very well organised. Good location. You have to be an expert buyer for a good catch. No place for amateur.

Good selection of cars, good food and most of the staff are helpful and friendly.

Beware of auctioneers running your bids up, especially if you are not know to them! If you bid £1000 for example and no one else is interested they will throw in a fake bid of £1100 in the hope that you will bid to £1200! This is fairly common practice, If you hear comments from the auctioneer such as "we can't at that price" or "just take that car through" then they were running you up!..Also there are very high buyers fee's if your are not a account holder/trader..and then ask yourself why cars are at auction in the first place?? About 80-90% of cars have problems, Sometime cars are not running and the guys manage to get them running breifly, just enough to drive them through and sell them to some mug. You can get a good deal sometimes but if your a private buyer stick to the small ads were you can actualy drive and check the car your going to be buying..
