The society held the AGM on Wednesday evening and can confirm that the 2019 show will be held on Saturday 17th August at West Shawtonhill Farm by kind permission of the Clark family, so it’s a date for the diary 😃
There are a few exciting changes for this years show, keep in touch with the page throughout the year for updates.
We would also like to congratulate our new Secretary, Christine Tough on taking over the post from Hazel Laughton who has stepped down to have a baby

The Chapelton Show Society AGM will take place on Wednesday 16th January in Chapelton Pub at 7.30pm. All Welcome.

A massive thank you to everyone who came along to our fundraising race night last night, it was a great success. 😃 Well done to Julie Anne Leggate for being the overall winning jockey.
The next event is the Whist Drive which will be held on Wednesday 28th November @ 7:30pm in Glassford Hall.

There are still tickets available for the Race Night this Saturday.. please contact Hazel Laughton for tickets on 07917 644584. It promises to be a great night!

Well despite the wet weather yet again everyone had a great day yesterday, and after the 2nd year of the show being open all section champions remained within the confined area.
Robert, Jane and Rosemary Hamilton, Mid Shawtonhill won the Beef section with a homebred Limousin heifer, Greg and Hazel Laughton, East Shawtonhill won the sheep section with a homebred gimmer and Wilson Frame, Craigthornhill won the Dairy section. Wilson's Holstein Cow, Criaghill Convoy Nell then we...nt on to secure the overall Champion of Champions.
Full results from all sections will follow later in the week.
The commiitee would like to thank everyone who helped set up the show ground in the wind and rain all week, everyone that sponsored and donated funds to the show, the judges for coming along and doing such a great job in challenging weather and finally to everyone who exhibited livestock, cakes and crafts or just came along for a day out.
Now to dismantle the field.....
