Cherry Hinton Care Home

On the 15th August we will be inviting all visitors to the home to celebrate Indian Independence Day here with us.
We will be asking all staff, residents, relatives and friends on the day to not only join us for some delicious home cooked Indian food at lunch time but to also join us in wearing something either green, orange or white to support the day.
There will plenty going on within the home to celebrate the day and we hope to have as many of you joining us there as possible 🇮🇳

Who doesn’t love an afternoon of baking... because we certainly do 🧁

So this afternoon Bryan one of our lovely gentlemen here at Cherry Hinton played his first game of Guess Who with our wonderful carer Chloe.
He then requested a little sing a long, which had Chloe jumping at such a suggestion. So off they went and treated us all to one special afternoon filled with songs and plenty of smiles.
Thank you Chloe for making a difference in such a small way, Bryan was beyond thrilled 💙

We are so thrilled to announce that here at Cherry Hinton Care Home we will be completing a 10 mile walk in honour of Alzheimer’s Society.
We will be setting off from the care home at 10.30am on August the 28th and will be following a route around the centre of the city, ending back at the home after the 10 miles is complete.
We are inviting as many friends, family, staff and friends from the community to join in with us and help raise money for a charity that is a huge part... of each of our lives here at Cherry Hinton and of course outside of the home.

Here at Cherry Hinton we would like to invite all our residents, families, friends and anyone from the local community to our ‘Bring the beach day’ here at the care home, on the 23rd August.
We will be enjoying a home cooked BBQ, entertainment from 2.30pm, garden games for all ages and then we will be having an ice cream van on site for anyone wanting a nice cool down.
All money raised on the day will go towards our well-being team here at Cherry Hinton and the activities wi...thin the home.

What a wonderful moment we shared here at Cherry Hinton yesterday...
One of our lovely gentleman wanted a beer so was beyond happy when one of our kind relatives went out and brought him one.
They do say a photo speaks a thousand words and this is proof of that 🍻

But of course, we can’t end the day without saying the biggest happy birthday to Josephine who has been blessed with an evening full of cake and birthday songs after spending her birthday afternoon out of the home with family 🎂

Today we had the joy of celebrating 65 years of marriage with the lovely Mr and Mrs Newton here at Cherry Hinton.
Congratulations to such a wonderful couple 💜💙

Tuesday’s sunny afternoon was spent with a picnic shared in our beautiful garden here at Cherry Hinton. An afternoon full of food, laughs and memories made 💜

This afternoon we took shelter in the shade and played a well enjoyed game of bingo with a few of our ladies here at Cherry Hinton 🏆

We are thrilled to announce our new ‘Lunch Club’ that’ll kick off at the end of August.
We would love to invite residents, relatives and all friends of Cherry Hinton to come and join each month.

So sadly the beach trip for cherry had to be cancelled very last minute today...
However, a trip to the garden centre followed by a pub lunch certainly made a few faces smile 🙃

A day in the life of...
Today one of our wonderful residents, Phyllis wanted to work alongside our lovely receptionist Lyndsay and experience a day in the life of.
Phyllis worked with Lyndsay for the morning and thoroughly enjoyed the experience and did an outstanding job... well done Phyllis 🥇

This morning we were extremely lucky to receive a visit from Jess and her beautiful dog Bella here at Cherry Hinton for some pet therapy.
Bella was not just beautiful but also a friendly addition for a Friday morning.
We all look forward to the next visit 🐶

What a wonderful thank you from one our beautiful families here at Cherry after our garden party this weekend.
You have made two ladies from our team so happy, so THANK YOU 🌟

The sun was shining, the songs were in full swing and the BBQ helped fill many empty stomachs.
