Ian is living with COPD. He knows the importance of rehabilitation to help him live life to the full. "There is no doubt that pulmonary rehabilitation helped to turn my life around. It allowed me to be much more in control of my COPD and my life.” Our 1 in 5 report shows that not everyone is getting the same support as Ian. Everyone with a chest, heart and stroke condition should have a universal and equal right to rehab. Sign our petition. #nolifehalflived

When Jeremy Southam had a cardiac arrest, he was out alone. Without the help of a passer-by, who called the ambulance and performed CPR, Jeremy would not be here today. Jeremy has shared his story to support our resource, which provides info and support for those who have experienced an out of hospital cardiac arrest and their loved ones. Visit Life After Cardiac Arrest for more info: www.lifeaftercardiacarrest.org

Us Scots know how to do a good breakfast – and no, I don’t mean a fry-up. In fact we’re the only country in the world to have a competition dedicated to the best porridge making skills in the land – the Golden Spurtle. But why are oats so good for us and what on earth is a Golden Spurtle? #hearthealthy #breakfast #oats

“Research has given me my life back. I now have a future with my family to see my children grow up.”
Rob’s heart stopped for 24 seconds. Without Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland’s research it might have stopped forever. He was having unexplained blackouts and took part in a research trial we funded. The trial revealed shocking results. Over a two week period his heart stopped four times including once for 24 seconds. Within 24 hours of the results, Rob had a pacemaker fitted.
Our research changes lives. We need your help right now to fund it. Donate now: www.chss.org.uk/appeals
