Cheynes

I had a really poor experience with Sarah at Cheynes. I went in for a full head of highlights and a cut. I was the last appointment of the day and was made aware that the staff were going out together after work. This meant Sarah was the last one 'working' and I felt her rush the entire time. Firstly, she said no one told her I'd arrived so we started 15 minutes late (and her attitude showed she was clearly not happy about it). She spaced the foils very far apart - not what I'm used to when getting a full head of foils and I was sat under the heater within 30 mins. Whilst under the heater I was asked to lay the £180 bill so they could cash up. I did this and later regretted it as I wasn't happy with end result of hair. My hair was washed and a Wella toner was put on. As my hair dried I could clearly see in the mirror that my hair was purple. Sarah said this was from the toner and it wouldn't show in normal lighting. She then gave me the briefest of cuts and I, and my purple hair, were out of there. My hair was very purple in daylight and so I rang them the next day and they said it would wash out within a few days. I had an important event I'd got my hair done for and was really annoyed that I didn't have the colour I'd paid a lot for. When the purple did wash out I could see it had been masking a really patchy highlight job. My roots came back quickly and the colour wasn't clean. Would not recommend this place at all.

Always have a wonderful experience and come out SO happy with how hair is done..every time. Would highly recommend Nick!!!

Can't rate Craig highly enough. He has cut my hair for 5 years and I'm always pleased with it. He recently cut my kids hair too - he was kind and fun and made it a real treat for them. Total professional who knows what he is doing.

I've been going to Craig for years - and I trust him so much with my (fine, awful) hair that I just let him cut it the way he wants to. He never lets me down.
I don't go to the salon as often as I should - but I'm always treated with courtesy and charm, and I'm always delighted with my cut and colour.
The team here are really lovely. Thoroughly recommended.

Blown Away

Salon Director at Cheynes in Bruntsfield, Craig Hibberd is an intuitive, talented and engaging stylist. He's able to discern what you're hoping to achieve and he delivers - exceeding expectations. I'm rating this salon with five-star status as the staff are all welcoming, the location is ideal, the banter is highly entertaining and you get what you pay for. Also have to mention it's the best blow dry I've ever had.

I had a full head of highlights done on 6th April with Sarah and it was honestly the best highlights I have ever had done (and I have been getting highlights done for the past 5 years at numerous hairdressers!) Amazing customer service too, would definitely recommend!

Damaged my hair so badly that I had to get it all cut off. The manager was lovely when I complained, but unfortunately the damage was done. I asked for a grey balayage and got a yellow bleach with an unblended line into brown roots.

I had never had my hair cut in the Bruntsfield Cheynes before but I'm so glad I went in. Craig chatted to me about what would and wouldnt suit my hair, and took the time to listen to what I wanted. So glad I went in here - its been a long time since I have loved my hair as much as I do now! Thanks Craig!
