Happy Moon Festival!
The Mid-Autumn Festival, popularly known as the Moon Festival, has been celebrated in China for more than 3,000 years. It commemorates the gathering of the harvest and is held on the day and evening of the full moon between early September and early October. This year, it falls on Friday, 13th September.
Just as harvest means the gathering of the crops, the Festival has also come to mean the gathering of the family. All over China next Friday, families w...ill come together to view the bright, full moon and observe the 2,000 year old tradition of eating moon cakes. These small, round pastries symbolise unity and harmony. We have our own Chop Chop Autumn cake and we are sure you'll find our Chinese patisserie delicious.
We would like to invite you and yours, as members of our extended Chop Chop family, to join us on Friday, 13th September between 5.30 and 9.30 p.m. to enjoy our treat of free Chop Chop moon cake and a sparkling welcome drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) with your snack or meal. We also hope that the night sky on Friday will be clear and you will be able to celebrate the moon in all its glory.
As the Moon Festival falls on a Friday this year, we anticipate having a full restaurant, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
