We are still open and providing support, therapy, counselling and CBT for those looking for support, a listening ear, therapy, CBT, counselling and a safe place to talk things through.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, we are currently only providing online therapy. We can provide therapy and counselling via a secure and GDPR-compliant video-conferening platoform called Zoom or we can provide Email Therapy and Counselling.
You can return to face-to-face sessions once the situati...on has settled or continue with online sessions. The choice is yours.
Online therapy means we can now reach more people and can therefore, provide appointments via Zoom or Email Therapy and Counselling to anyone in the UK.
We still have some appointment slots available with our various psychotherapists and counsellors, so please do feel free to get in touch for more information or to book an appointment.
Thanks and speak soon,
Alexandra

Some words on COVID-19 and feelings of uncertainty, unknowingness, anxiety, fear and being out-of-control at the moment. Because we know many of you are feeling these things.
Amidst the panic and anxiety surrounding the current COVID-19 situation is the sense of feeling trapped, out-of-control or even helpless.
These are some of the feelings our clients and those getting in touch about accessing therapy are expressing. The urgency and panic created by the media doesn't help w...

The Peace of Wild Things
When despair for the world grows in me and when I wake in the night at the least sound in fear of what my life and my children's life might be,... I go and lie down where the wood drake rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds. I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief. I come into the presence of still water. And I feel above me the day-blind stars waiting with their light. For a time I rest in the grace of the world, and I free.

The above is a little poem that focuses on us being mindful and how it can help an support us, especially at a time when we are all feeling anxious, distressed and uncertain.
Due to COVID-19, all therapy, CBT and counselling will be online until the situation settles. We use Zoom, which is GDPR-compliant. Get in touch if you would like some support and someone to talk to.

#FridayFacts
This week's 'facts' this week focus on some of the differences and similarities between anxiety and panic. Hope you find the poster below interesting!
Feel free to get in touch for support, therapy, CBT, counselling, support, consultations, more information or to access some talking support if you are experiencing anxiety or panic (or want support with something else).
... We have male and female therapists and counsellors. Day-time, evening and weekend appointment are also available at our offices in Glasgow city centre. If you want to start doing something about how you are feeling, or about unwanted thoughts you might have or maybe even some unhelpful or harmful habits or behaviours that are affecting how you feel, your life, your work or perhaps your relationships, then get in touch and start taking action now. The sooner you get support, the sooner you will begin to feel better and more able to cope.
Most of us will take medication or have rest or engage in some form of self-care when we physically feel unwell, or are worn down or have some form of injury. Our mental health is no different - it needs taking care of too.
So, take care of how you are feeling and what you are thinking, and find out how we can support you with this. And we're talking to those men out there too - you need and deserve support too and we can offer that with warmth, encouragement and patience - there's no judgement or pressure here.

How often do we ask someone, whether it's a friend, family member, colleague, neighbour (or anyone else), 'how are you?' and they answer, 'I'm fine'? All the time, yes?
How often do people ask you, 'how are you?' and you answer, 'I'm fine'? All the time, I'm betting.
It's that stock phrase we pull out and give everytime someone asks how we are doing. We often don't even think about saying it, its so automatic. Yet, often we are not fine. And often the person we are asking af...ter isn't fine either.
In fact, I am betting many people answer 'I'm fine' and, underneath, they are really struggling, hurting, in pain, worrying about something in their life and being faced with terrible news or a distressing situation.
But, we will never know this until we starting letting others in and starting reaching out a bit more. Why are we so afraid of how we feel? What are we so anxious about our thoughts or what we are going through? Why are we so nervous about asking how someone really is?
I can guess at some of the answers, however, the point is we need to talk to each other more. Humans are social animals and connecting, collaborating and communicating with each other is really important not only for our wellbeing, but our survival. No wonder mental health issues are on the increase - we are so scared and reluctant to communicate with each other. And this isn't helped by social media and tech that often acts as a barrier to 'real' connection and communication.
So, next time someone asks how you are, or you ask how someone else is, take a moment to reflect on what really is going on for you or what might be going on for them. And then connect. Connect with yourself and connect with another person. Believe me, it will feel good.
All the best, Alexandra :-)

Its not just mums who can experience low mood, depression, anxiety, loss of identity, challenges with change and transition, stress, poor sleep and many other things following the birth of a baby. It affects dads too, although we often seem to forget this.
Having a new baby around affects dads too. Have a wee read of the article below. Maybe is sounds familiar or rings a bell with someone you know. Dads, get in touch if you need someone to talk to. Mums - of course, you can g...et in touch too if you need to access some support and need a listening ear.
We are here to support mums, dads and anyone else finding having a wee one around challenging.
