Glencoe Studio Gallery will be participating in the Artmap Argyll Open Studios event over the next couple of weekends. Call in and browse the landscape art and the amazing collection of fused glass on display. You can also pick up one of the event brochures and follow your way through the wide range of open studios located right across Argyll. Unfortunately tonight's gig with Eabhal has been cancelled as their flight back from Europe was cancelled.
Mak-A-Din will be here tomorrow night from 9pm in the Boots Bar.

User

Another huge thank you for all your small change. We've emptied the bar top collection boxes and have handed over another ┬Ż435 to Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team. Keep it coming!

We're looking forward to the 2018 edition of the Glencoe Open Water Swim which comes back to Loch Leven next Saturday 18th August. Although entries have now closed, we still have a couple of sponsors entries available. If this is the nudge you need to bring out the open water swimmer in you, then message us for your free Clachaig entry. We tested out the course this morning and it was, er,... wet! But very refreshing.

We've received a collection of old photos of a climbing trip to Glencoe in 1948. The mountains still look the same but there's a few notable changes in the glen. Clachaig is just about visible in this one, but a little lost in the grainy image. The climbing gear has changed a fair bit too! Will try and get them uploaded to the web site soon as it's a lovely collection.

A new stock of engraved tankards and beer glasses has now arrived. If you're keen to get your hands on them and aren't passing by any time soon, fear not as we will post them. Regrettably we can't include the beer as it makes the box a bit soggy. Check them out on the link along with the rest of our propaganda.

The Lewis Hamilton Band performs mostly original Blues/Rock/Americana music, combining melodic and powerful vocals with a rock solid rhythm section and virtuoso heart-felt lead guitar.
One of the UKŌĆÖs hardest working bands, this family powered trio was formed in 2010 and have since been booked for over 700 shows from Shetland to Slovenia, and have appeared at most of the UKŌĆÖs blues festivals, including Main Stage performances at Newark, Hebden Bridge and Maryport. Their reput...ation has quickly spread across Europe, with three successful tours of Poland and regular trips to Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium and Holland. - LewisŌĆÖs debut album Gambling Machine was released when he was just 17, and won the Scottish New Music Award for Scottish Jazz/Blues album of the year for 2012. Candlelight & Sympathy from 2nd album Empty Roads features on the soundtrack of the feature film Scar Tissue, and the title track used by the BBC as theme music for the TV series ŌĆśThe MartŌĆÖ. His third album Ghost Train has had airplay and a special mention from ŌĆśWhisperingŌĆÖ Bob Harris on BBC R2. His 4th studio album Shipwrecked was chosen as an ŌĆśAlbum of the MonthŌĆÖ by the Independent Blues Broadcasters Association (IBBA) and has been played by Paul Jones, also on BBC R2. LewisŌĆÖs new solo EP ŌĆśCellar DoorŌĆÖ will be launched in October 2017. Now with two regular top session drummers to choose from, the band continues to go from strength to strength.

LAPWYNG are a brand new young energetic trio based in Glasgow. Their music is rooted in Scottish Folk music, as well as drawing on jazz and Scandinavian influences. The band features Euan McLaughlin on Guitar & Fiddle from Edinburgh, where he studied at the City of Edinburgh Music School. He now studies Traditional Music at the Royal Conservatiore of Scotland. Ewen White Accordion) and Alasdair Mackenzie (Guitar & Vocals) both grew up in the Scottish Highlands, and spent three years together at the National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music in Plockton. The trio combine the old with the new with original compositions and traditional tunes. Collectively they have performed with bands such as Baile, Dante, Mabel & The Freewheelers, Feis Rois and Snas.

Not quite the 30 degrees that seems to be elsewhere in the UK here in the glen today but Fly reckons thatŌĆÖs probably a good thing when it comes to her evening run up the Pap.

We have just had our first electric car in using our new charge point.

Our Electric Vehicle charge point is now up and running.

Larry sent has just won himself a free Clachaig T-shirt by sending in this photo of himself on the summit of Mount Dione in British Columbia. If you have a photo of yourself in a Clachaig T-shirt in an interesting location (in our opinion) you may be able to win your self a new T-shirt.

Some top tips (and fairly stunning scenery) for you motorbikers out there. Not sure you'll be seeing the road as quiet at the moment, and take care with the man eating pot holes. Enjoy the ride.

The first C├©ilidh Trail project, established by F├©isean in 1999, was designed to help teenage musicians develop their performance skills and to create a vibrant traditional music entertainment programme in the Highlands. Over the years, the project has been replicated in other areas and has proved to be an overwhelming success.
Make sure you take the opportunity to see and hear some of the best young singers and musicians from F├©isean across Scotland in the C├©ilidh Trails.

Our phone lines are all down at the moment so if you are trying to contact us please send us an email to frontdesk@clachaig.com and we will get it eventually. This also means we cannot take card payments in our bars right now. BT say they are investigating the problem so we shall see how long that takes.

What a fantastic location the backdrop is amazing I have driven by this place for years food excellent wish I had found it sooner ¤śÄ¤æŹ¤æŹ

We ate and drank in The Clachaig just after New Year and as usual the food was excellent, quickly served, and reasonably priced. I particularly recommend the haggis.

We always visit whenever we are in the area and this year we've decided to return in the summer too and stay in one of the bedrooms.

As the propaganda says: "The Clachaig - the best pub in the World - probably"

User

Usual fantastic Hogmanay in the Clachaig. Thanks to all the hard working staff behind the bar (you are the best), in the kitchen and behind the scenes. Thanks for all the lovely ales and the entertainment. Sorry about the mess I made with the party poppers and most of all thanks for letting us stay.

User

The Clachaig is a fantastic inn. This is our second hogmanay up in Glencoe. The value for money, the food and the choice of drink are amazing.

If you want a real Scottish adventure this is the place to come. Of course the scenery and the walking/activities help to build an appetite.

This is definitely a fun place to be.

User

Stopped here for great food and awesome pints while on vacation in 2013 and 2016. Next time we'll spend even more time in the area with a room for a night or two. Sending friends to stay there this summer. Highly recommended, we'll be back again!

User

Lovely meal last night. Followed by great live music in the bar. A proper Scottish night out ’┐Į x

User

Love this place. Happy friendly staff and excellent food. Just an amazing place to eat ,drink and be merry.

User

If you like busy crazy happy people then an evening in the Clachaig is for you. Get in early if you want a seat. Music is always local unlike us!! My wife and I travel from Newcastle Under Lyme to visit this amazing place. I proposed to her at the foot of Aonach Eagach underneath the Clachaig signpost. (She said yes).

The restaurant is situated at the front if the bar gets too busy or if you prefer a more relaxed experience. I say get amongst it and enjoy the entertainment.

Other quieter nights are available so look online before you book.

Rooms are a little basic for the money, however, after a hard days walking who cares. They are clean and warm and the staff are very welcoming.

Hope this helps

User

Great selection of Ale from local es -great bar with real fires and great atmosphere and friendly staff - food looked good although I did not eat.

User

Great place, top food and drink with a friendly atmosphere and lovely staff - would recommend.

User

Great entertainment on Saturday nights. When the village is cold & silent in the winter, come here for excellent & traditional time after your day on the mountains!

The bar also accepts Apple Pay & Cards for the more modern customer.

User

Everytime I am here I never want to leave. The atmosphere and surroundings just warm your soul. The eclectic mix of clientele and staff make the place what it is. Always hope for a wee impromptu acoustic session from some talented musician passing through. The food is amazing and bonus is they have Kraken (rum). You can't go to Glencoe and not go here!

User

Brilliant time had in a very laid back, and reasonably priced bar/restaurant, with a friendly atmosphere and helpful staff. Definitely will be back. Thank you.

User

Boot Bar is awesome,. Sat night had live music, superb, great crowd and great atmosphere

User

After my dad and uncle telling me how amazing this place is, I finally got to see for myself when we recently had a visit to Glen Coe over the last week. We came in every day and I love how friendly and welcoming it is. We always went to the Boots bar and I love that itŌĆÖs so chilled and that everyone in there has a shared love for hiking and being up in the mountains. I definitely will come back (if for no other reason than to continue working through the gin menu! ’┐Į).

User

Visited with a group of Chinese friends who had never drank bier nor been in a pub. They provided excellent service allowed a bier tasting and were very good all round. Shame no traditional live music was on, next time, would of put the icing on the cake when visiting an excellent traditional Scottish Inn. Thank you

User

Fantastic location and friendly staff. Not over enamoured with the meal my other half had. Steak and ale pie had quite a bit of gristle and fat in it and was also very peppery. WouldnŌĆÖt stop us going again as you cannot judge a place with one meal. Would have been better if people are left to season to their own taste. Not a major complaint but she couldnŌĆÖt eat it. Overall as already said the Clachaig is an awesome place and well deserves its high rating.

User

About time they got a decent lager and service behind bar was very slow. Been going in there over 10 years and worst ever seen it.

User

Just been for something to eat. Utterly disappointed this time. Ordered the chicken stuffed with Haggis with mash & root vegetables in a whisky sauce. .... on the plate was a small thigh of chicken NO Haggis NO whisky sauce but a mustard sauce ’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į. The food has certainly took a downturn
