Clevedale Veterinary practice’s dedicated equine department is well equipped to deal with all aspects of equine veterinary care.

We aim to advise you on the most cost effective, efficient and up to date ways to diagnose and treat your horses. We only recommend courses of treatment that we believe in, or that are supported by a scientific evidence base. We are committed to our own professional development. We regularly attend courses in this country and overseas, and converse and collaborate with various specialists to ensure that our advice and services are bang up to date.

We have been inspected by the Royal college of Veterinary Surgeons and passed their accreditation scheme. Our aim is to provide the best and most appropriate treatment tailored to your individual circumstances. We pride ourselves in catering for all patients, from miniature horses to racehorses and shetlands to shires. Each of our equine vets has specific areas of interest, providing expertise in equine medicine, surgery and reproduction.

Our main base at Upleatham houses a full surgical facility, complete with state of the art arthroscopy equipment for key-hole surgery on joints and tendon sheaths. Our diagnostic suite combines a top of the range digital processing system with one of the most powerful x-ray machines available. This enables us to obtain excellent images of the stifles, backs and necks of large horses. Our Upleatham clinic has six stables for the accommodation of day patients and the hospitalisation of more poorly horses. Three of these stables are equipped with video cameras which allow remote and cost effective monitoring of inpatients.
