Cracking pub! Amazing range of proper real ales. It's not just a newly opened "bar" capitalising on the popularity of real ales. This is the real deal.

Excellently relaxing place to get away from town centre hustle for an hour or so in the afternoon.
Great beers and mixed clientele make for a very happy pub experience.
No TVs, jukebox or piped music.

Simply the best pub in Edinburgh. Outstanding selection of ales, informative and friendly staff and excellent food to boot. What's not to like? Oh and did I mention the outstanding selection of ales....No sky sports, no quiz nights, no televisions....just people and good beer....

We've lived round the corner from Cloisters and never eaten there, the food always looked lovely. Yesterday we both ordered the hot & spicy burgers with peri peri and normal chips. The burgers were the best we've had in 18 months of living here, absolutely fantastic! Spoke to the barman and everything on the menu is homemade. Think we'll be spending many more nights in future nipping in for a quick bite. Well worth a visit.

Great pub. If you love your Real Ale then you need to come here. No tv no music just good beer and food. Read the paper. Chat with your friends. What more do you need?

My first visit to Cloister's was on a blind date with an artist. She brought a dog and had great stories. I've been back irregularly many times since. So many pubs in Edinburgh, and I don't drink that much. But Cloister's is definitely a good one. I think of it and I think of a friendly alcoholic blur, chatting animately with mates and buying another round. Yeah.
