The time has come for me to close down Closer to You and say goodbye to the world of slings and carriers. Over the last 11 years of running Closer to You I am proud to have helped hundreds of families in Edinburgh to find a comfortable and safe carrier for their baby - it has been a privilege every time. For the 9 years that Closer to You was a online sling retailer, I also brought great slings and carriers to families around the UK and further afield.

We are closed! Due to building work, we are now closed to all consultations until 10 March 2018. If you are looking for help with slings and carriers before we reopen, we recommend looking at Lothian Sling Library, Hono Baby or Baby Bitz!

Closer to You is run from a family home - and we are getting some major building work carried out in January and February. So Closer to You will be closed for all consultations and events from 18 December 2017 to 10 March 2018 inclusive.

The most recent Pregnancy and Parents Centre Nearly New Sale, Sling and Nappy day was another great day meeting loads of parents interested in finding out more about slings and carriers - as always, I had nearly lost my voice by the end! It was great to meet lots of parents who were bringing along their Baby Box stretchy wraps - fantastic to see them going into use with babies. International Babywearing Week is a wonderful time for this lovely video from Oscha Slings showing one way of using the Scottish plaid to carry a baby. When I used to carry my babies around Edinburgh I heard from a few older women that they had used the plaid to carry their babies, or they could remember being carried! Wherever we are from in the world, there are traditional carrying methods, lovely to see a Scottish tradition being preserved and documented

Sound advice. Love the Close caboo. Feels really safe, with the double ring adjusters and you can just bung it in the wash.
