Congratulations to our award winners last night, who were recognised as 'Most Enthusiastic Coder', 'Most Improved Coder', and for making the 'Best Contribution to the Dojo'.
Have a great Christmas holidays everyone and we'll see you in the new year!

Tomorrow night is our last session of 2018 and we're going to do something a bit different to celebrate the achievements of our young coders.
We'll be having our first award ceremony to recognise some great achievements. Should be fun!
Our first session in 2019 will be on January 16th.

We've stopped for the school summer holidays now but have no fear hackers/coders/techy-people, we'll be back on Wednesday 29th August for more coding craziness.
Thanks to all the kids who've attended so far in 2018 and the fabulous mentors who make this all possible.
Have a good summer holidays everyone!

We had a wee coding challenge last night to see who could make an amazing dancing character with code. We were looking for the following things:
1) lots of energetic dancing 2) interactivity 3) multimedia - sound and visuals
... After a thorough scrutinising by Judge 'Harsh but Fair' Robert, the winner of the challenge was announced as...wee Rhona!
This cracking wee coder will receive the prize of an Easter egg. 🥚

Thank you to those people who contacted us recently saying they were interested in becoming mentors at CoderDojo Bridgeton.
It will be great to get you on board.
We currently have a large number of young people who'd love to come along to the dojo but we need more members to make this happen.
... We look forward to working with you!
Talking of new mentors, we're thrilled that one of our coders, Robert, has volunteered to become a mentor. Robert has been with us since the very start of the club and he's our first young coder who's come up 'through the ranks' to become a mentor. Brilliant! It's been great to see Robert's skills grow over the past few years, and we're chuffed to bits that he's joined our happy team of mentors.

We've recently had a huge increase in the numbers of young people who want to attend our club.
Brilliant!
We're sorry that we can't take ALL the children who want to attend EVERY time. We'd love to, but we can't.
... Rest assured, the CoderDojo elves are beavering away in the background, searching everywhere for more amazing mentors to help out. The more mentors we have, the more young people we can help build their coding skills.
If you'd like to be a mentor (or know of someone who would) get in touch! The CoderDojo elves would love to hear from you. 😁
We're looking for mentors who can commit to mentoring regularly, either once a fortnight or once a month.
You don't need to be a techie-genius* - being enthusiastic and willing to learn is much more important.
*techie-geniuses will also be made very welcome. 😉

If your child has attended CoderDojo Bridgeton before you should have received a letter or email by now to let you know about the changes we're making to signing up for our sessions.
We've so far been accepting children who haven't booked a place but we can't continue doing this. There are simply too many children attending for the current number of mentors we have.
As from the 7th February, if you haven't booked a place at a session your child WON'T be able to attend this se...ssion.
If you haven't received our email/letter please DM us or email us - bridgeton@coderdojoscotland.com.
Thanks!
