We have used them for years now would never think of going anywhere else. The girls are so friendly and welcoming they take time to listen to you if your cat has any meds to take or dislikes. Everytime we have taken smir the girls are busy cleaning which we find very comforting. There has never ever been any smell that you might associate with so many cats at once so we are easier leaving her with them knowing she is getting all the care that she needs even though she has a problem with female's but they give her her treats nd she forgives them.

Best cattery my cats have stayed in. Pen 1 is huge and the girls do an excellent job. See you in December! Kirsty and Gavin

I have been using CCC to board my cat Todd since we moved to Edinburgh 3 years ago. Its always a concern when trying to find somewhere new however I would highly recommend Helen and the team to anyone who is looking for a professional, friendly and caring service.

I have now investigated this post from Lyndsay Archibald and have discovered that the booking was actually made in the name of Russell Begbie. Mr Begbie had previously boarded another cat with us but now had two new cats. The booking was made on 9/4/15 for boarding 2 cats from 6 – 11/5/15 (subsequently changed on 5/5 to start that day). When the booking was made we took all the details regarding the new cats, Sam and Dixie, and the customer was informed that the cats’ vaccination records must be up to date before boarding. Where there is no record or the vaccination time has lapsed, a new course of vaccination would be required. That involves 2 injections approximately 3 weeks apart. There was ample time for this to be carried out before boarding but the owner delayed taking the cats to the vet until 4 May, the day before the booking started, for the first injection. We are unable to accept a cat for boarding until it is fully vaccinated. This is a requirement of all licensed animal boarding establishments, so clearly we would not be able to accept these cats until after their second injection (which was not carried out until 1 June). I suspect the owner had been advised by the vet to contact us regarding the booking on 4 May as when we offered to telephone the vet he became verbally abusive, picked up the cats and stormed out. If, as Ms Archibald states, she had had the cats for 18 months, why had the owners not had them vaccinated before? We would certainly not put our other boarders at risk because one owner could not be bothered to take their cats to the vet. What the owner was actually told on 5 May was that as the first of the course of two vaccinations had only been carried out the day before we couldn’t accept the cats for boarding. Personally I would consider that a cattery that would turn away the revenue for a booking for two cats rather than put the other cats in the cattery at risk, highly professional and competent.

EXCELLENT!!
I have been a regular customer of Colinton Country Cattery for around 6 years. Unfortunately my job requires a fair amount of travel which takes me away from my wee boy Spike. Spike doesn't seem to mind though as he has a second home here. The chalets are clean, safe and secure, and the care and compassion shown by the staff and owners is second to none. Spike loves going on holiday.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Mrs Smith, you are correct that the cat did escape from you and was eventually returned to us. My husband, friends and I spent 36 hours distributing hundreds of flyers and posters to try to retrieve our cat, once we understood it was no longer in your attic. The reason for our review is that we would not wish this to happen to other cats. We hope you can understand that.

We completely disagree with your decision to dismiss the staff member who left the chalet door open. It is your responsibility to ensure that there are processes in place to make sure that one human error does not lead to you losing a cat.

The employees of the cattery have been helpful, polite and constructive in their efforts. You were not.

Colinton Country Cat LOST my beloved little cat. Several elements concerning a chain of systematic flaws in the processes and procedures of this cattery, led this cattery to lose my cat.

Not only did Colinton Country Cattery fail in its primary business objective (to keep the cat safe), but they also exhibited abominable decision-making, poor business practice, and a disgraceful attitude towards its customers.

After my experience at this cattery it is hard to imagine ever trusting a cattery again. Please be cautious when using any cattery. This episode broke my heart.
