We are looking to develop our already existing team by recruiting a commis chef. The commis chef would have the opportunity to work with an experienced team to develop their skills and would be part of an exciting business. This is the perfect role for an enthusiastic person looking to develop their trade with experienced chefs in an all fresh food cooking environment.
The position includes 28 days holiday a year and with working hours that include a mixture of spl...its and straights with two guaranteed days of a week.
Your Key responsibilities will include
Commi chef responsibilities
Maintaining high standards of hygiene Preparing the ingredients for a more senior chef. Measuring dish ingredients and portion sizes accurately. Responsible for a section of the kitchen during service. Working as part of an organized team. Successful applicant will show:
Great attitude to learning new skills. Learns quickly and effectively. Works well as part of a friendly team.

We loved our weekend at the Collingwood Arms. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, even booking taxis for us on the Saturday night and posting a top I left in the wardrobe. We had two breakfasts and dinners in the bistro - all meals were excellent, especially the lamb (to die for). The room was very clean and well equipped - lovely tea & biscuits, as well as bottles of water, Molten Brown smellies in the bathroom. Highly recommend a stay here.

We had the best ever battered fish and sublime chips from the bar menu which with the wonderful staff made for a lovely evening. This was my first visit to the Collingwood but definitely won't be the last.

We came out for afternoon tea today and it was superb! What set the Collingwood apart for me though was the staff and how they catered for our toddler who has food allergies. Our server took a note of his allergies and came back with a list of options for a light lunch and later came over with a beautiful little sweet dessert for him that they had made up specially for him. Will definitely be back. Thank you!

The food choice for Sunday dinner was good. I option for roast beef and it was delicious, delicious, delicious ! The onto pudding when I don't usually indulge. Fab, fab, fab. And the cost? Very reasonable indeedy!! Would wholeheartedly recommend

The Collingwood Arms..was brillant the hotel is comfortable and stylish..The food was good value and well presented ..The staff were really helpful and pleasant but the best things for us was our 2 dogs got to stay free of charge in a smashing kennel at the rear of the hotel..they were allowed in the bar during the evening

Supper in the brassiere with friends. Fantastic service, amazing food. We had the venison loin and it's probably the best venison I've eaten. Cooked beautifully. Staff were polite and didn't rush us. Can't wait to go back.

Shona and the team pulled out the stops to make our informal wedding lunch special. We had the most perfect day in a beautiful setting. Excellent food with friendly staff and the accommodation is top notch too. A gem of a place!

Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent food. We were made to feel very welcome (especially the dogs) when we called in on the off chance for dinner on Easter Monday. The hot cross bun bread and butter pudding was wonderful!

Lovely Afternoon tea ☕️ yesterday - first time in this beautiful hotel and it is very well decorated, made us want to book in for the night - food was first class - this was a gift and such a lovely treat - will definitely book a meal there now as service and food quality was very high - have driven past this place so many times and didn't realise it was so good!

Have spent a few lovely relaxed afternoons here for afternoon tea with friends and with family. Amazing and lavish selection of cakes freshly made to order (hence 24 hour booking required). Bottomless pots of tea and coffee, log fire and nothing too much trouble for the very discreet and unobtrusive staff.

Friendly and extremely helpful staff made our stay at the Collingwood perfect for my parents golden wedding celebration! Dinner was delicious and very good value and breakfast was amazing! We will definitely be back! Thank you to all the staff!

Fantastic hotel in a stunning location with plenty of history on the doorstep. Staff are amazing and Anthony sorted us out a fab suite .. didn’t want to leave !

Presentation at dinner and breakfast great.. lots of attention to detail. Lovely food so when told it was the chefs first night was surprised .. even more so as he’s only 21! Great team all round !

Booked the whole hotel for our wedding guests for a weekend. Staff were so helpful & friendly we couldn't have asked for more. Rooms are to a very high standard as is the food. Although we had so many guests to keep happy The Collingwood managed to do that. Would definitely recommend.

Booked 10 of us ladies in for afternoon tea/surprise baby shower at the Collingwood today. Shona couldn’t do any more for us, very accommodating and the gentleman serving us was very attentive. Brilliant customer service all round. A lovely welcoming place and the afternoon tea was delicious, can’t recommend it enough!

Best ice cream we have ever had , food excellent and great value and friendly staff , can't wait to travel the 6 hours again just for the ice cream

A lovely hotel with very friendly staff who are more than willing to help. Food is excellent with good portion sizes. I would thoroughly recommend the hotel. We hope to be back sometime in the future

Had afternoon tea here before for a 40th Birthday September 2016 it was just ace went back today for a 50th birthday and wasn’t even on par it was just ok don’t quite know why hotels change the look and the content
