The Colonsay and Oransay Heritage Trust aims to promote, celebrate and preserve the unique, ancient and fascinating history of this lovely island in the Southern Hebrides.

Our dedicated Heritage Trust Centre in Port Mòr is open all year round, offering visitors a compelling glimpse into Colonsay's past.

Current exhibitions in the Centre commemorate Colonsay's contribution to the war effort during World War I. Painstakingly researched in honour of the WWI Centenary, it records the poignant sacrifice made by so many young men from this island in all areas of the British armed forces.

Our second exhibition contains is an exciting and interesting research into the earlier centuries of Colonsay history. Specially designed posters explore the wide range of archaeological sites that are present throughout Colonsay - including the grave of a Viking warrior!

Our Centre seeks to engage visitors and islanders alike with Colonsay's vibrant history and help develop our Heritage Trust into the future.
