Columba House Hotel

Very disapointed resturaunt and bar closed at 6pm really. The room could do with a lick of paint and the furniture was dated not period.
The bed however was kingsized and very comfortable and apart from the wind through the window and some mechanical device starting at 5.30am it was deadly quiet.
I think perhaps the noise was an air extractor in someones bathroom as the one in mine was like a 747 taking off. One of the bedside lamps didnt work.
Pictures on the LRs website I booked through should be taken down as they do not depict reality. On departure there was nobody around to let know about any of the faults despite pressing the bell 2 times. If I had not pre paid or had extras to pay I could have been waiting some time. This was at 9am on a Thursday so not the crack of dawn.
Saying this the only staff member I met was friendly and with a bit of work and better managment the place would be great.

I stayed there one night with my friend after a long trip from northern Scotland. It was really nice, cozy and pretty place to stay. We had dinner and breakfast there, the foods was amazing. The staffs were super nice and friendly.

It's a very nice place with friendly staff and amazing kitchen. All meals we had were delicious. We could choose from a decent range of single malts. Finally, my desert was probably the best chocolate cake I've ever had.

Fantastic stay over Night, wonderful service and the food was brilliant. Booking again as soon as we can 😃

5 stars for value for money. Lovely quaint place. Shows it's age but that's one of the reasons it's brilliant, character in abundance. Everything you look at in the hotel has a story, from marble chess set in the snug to ornaments and pictures in the hallways and rooms. Second visit here, returning after a great first visit. Proving the quality wasn't a fluke. Fantastic restaurant and do not miss the great breakfast. Recommend.

I stayed at Columba House Hotel for one night and had a lovely time. The hotel is very attractive from the outside and nicely decorated inside with period decorations. I didn't use the bar or restaurant but it has a nice sitting area down stairs. The bedroom was nice with a four poster bed and a good size bathroom. The only areas for improvement would be the light bulb in the main bedroom light as it was to dim and the WiFi signal was very weak in our room.
