Comann Ceilteach Oilthigh Dhùn Èideann Description
Tha an Comann Ceilteach air aon de na comainn as sine aig Oilthigh Dhùn Èideann agus 's ann airson a h-uile duine aig a bheil ùidh ann an cànan is cultar nan Gàidheal is na Gàidhealtachd a tha e.
Tha Comann Ceilteach Oilthigh Dhùn Èideann airson a' Ghàidhlig agus an cultar Gàidhealach a bhrosnachadh agus a dhìon ann am prìomh-bhaile na h-Alba. Is e dòigh mhath chuideachdail a th' ann airson tlachd a ghabhail ann an cultar nan Gàidheal, tuilleadh mun chànan fhaighinn a-mach no an cànan fhèin a chleachdadh ann an suidheachadh neo-fhoirmeil.
Chaidh a' chiad chruth dhen Chomann a stèidheachadh ann an 1837, a tha a' fàgail gur e 2017 an 180mh ceann-bliadhna againn!

The Highland Society (known as An Comann Ceilteach - 'the Celtic Society' in Gaelic) is one of the oldest societies at the University of Edinburgh and organises the largest ceilidh in Edinburgh every year, called the Highland Annual. During the rest of the year, we organise regular get-togethers as well as instill an awareness of Scottish Gaelic language and culture across the rest of the University community.
The University of Edinburgh's Highland Society was formed to promote and protect the culture and language of the Gael in the capital city of Scotland. It is an excellent and helpful way to enjoy Gaelic culture, learn more about the language or to use Gaelic in an informal setting.
The society's first incarnation was founded in 1837, meaning that 2017 is our 180th anniversary!
